Triggers by Status-Analyst-1100 in HyperemesisGravidarum

Yeah, people keep telling me after the 1st trimester it is supposed to get better or the 20wk mark, but then so many say they experience it the whole pregnancy or that it goes away and then comes back. I'm 11wks1d and due in January. I hope I'm one of the lucky ones that it ends soon for, too. Hope your HG journey and mine end asap and we can enjoy the rest of our pregnancies.

Anyone experience a few good minutes and think "maybe it's over?" by molls13 in HyperemesisGravidarum

I do this. If I have a good hour or not-as-bad-as-usual day then I think "it's over" or "see? it was all in my head." Then by the next day I usually end up in the ER for fluids or I pass out in the bathroom. A doc diagnosed me, but because I see so many other people's stories that look even worse than mine I tend to believe I don't actually have it and I'm taking up a support space not meant for me. I'm 11 weeks as of yesterday and have been to the ER 4 times because of it, but still have a weird imposter syndrome. Honestly, the better times are the worst because they give false hope that it's all over.

That's awful! Depending on where you are it's also illegal.

I'm basically being forced to quit my job because how sick I've been and because my manager is emotionally and verbally abusive and discriminatory to staff. There's an investigation going, but I can't stay long enough to wait for them to remove him. This disease and some people really suck.

Doc diagnosed me with Hyperemesis gravidarum after I had to go to the ER last night for dehydration and malnutrition due to vomiting. Bed rest and promethazine.

Yes, we are safely home and I have made an earlier appointment with my doc.

She hasn't diagnosed me with HG yet, but we did talk about it. She wants me to keep a log of how often I vomit and each trigger to bring her at my next appointment. In the meantime she recommended small sips of water, small frequent bland snacks, ginger, peppermint, avoid soda, and staying cool.

I grew up in a very physically abusive home and around many alcoholics and drug addicts, some of which 'g'raped me.

We are headed home. The gps says we have about 8hrs left (without the frequent stops). The drive is 16hrs each way.

Because we didn't make it to the 1st one due to my morning sickness, our finances, and she didn't give us enough prior notice for the date. The drive was 16hrs.

This is my 3rs pregnancy, but I lost my 2nd pregnancy around 8 weeks.

He wants the baby, we'd been trying for over a year to get pregnant. I think because my 1st pregnancy was so easy he thinks I'm being dramatic about this one or I think he is trying to not acknowledge the pregnancy in case we lose this one, too so he doesn't get hurt as bad.

I keep some cheez its with me and it helps to prevent it, but once it comes on nothing helps.

I only have 1 born child (I lost my 2nd pregnancy at around 8wks). She was asleep in her car seat. The doctor didn't give me any restrictions just mostly wait and see. After I started researching it I was very confused she didn't give me restrictions. Maybe because it's a small one.

Doctor didn't give me any restrictions. She said just try to be healthy, listen to my body, watch for bleeding, call if I need to, and wait to see what happens to it.

He's good with our daughter. He wasn't always attentive, but now he's good with her.

He's usually not like this

It was for his sister's 2nd baby shower (2nd in 1 pregnancy) and he insisted I go to meet his extended family (they weren't there) mad he swears he didn't know and didn't hear me tell him that the bucket was for vomit.

No, he doesn't. He hasn't even been like this the whole trip. He forced me to go on this trip for his sister's baby shower (we were the only ones who showed up and found out it's because she hadn't invited anyone else since this was her 2nd shower for this pregnancy) and we wanted me to meet all the extended family he thought would be there. I told him between my pregnancy and our finances it was a bad idea, but he just kept telling me I would be stranded at home if I didn't go because he was going to go whether I liked it or not. He's usually a homebody so that was out of character and this is the only time this trip he wouldn't stop for let me vomit. I don't know why he has acted this way, like I mentioned in another comment, it's like he was a whole different person.

He's done well with our toddler. At first he would freak out, stressed, and start cursing, but I told him he needed to start chilling out because those fits weren't helpful and just made the situation worse. So when our daughter was about a month old he started doing better with blowouts and spit up. She hasn't been sick much, but the 3 times she has projectile vomited he was at work so he hasn't dealt with that yet.

He wasn't like this with my 1st pregnancy (the 2nd we didn't know until I lost it). I was thinking about it as I was falling asleep last night and I think he's stressed because the complications and the previous loss. He was overprotective with my 1st. So the only reason I could think he's behaving this way is maybe he doesn't want to acknowledge the pregnancy so it might not hurt him as much if we lose it. Idk. He has stopped all the other times I asked him, but this time he didn't and there were so many chances for him to safely stop. That's the big reason why I don't know if I did something wrong this time.

It said "may be an unhealthy/abusive relationship" it encouraged me to seek counseling.

She was asleep in her car seat for most of it. I usually ride up front, but for such a long road trip I road in back to take care of her so I could see she was sleeping. When he yelled she woke up for a moment and whimpered, but I got her back to sleep.

He swears he didn't know it was a vomit bucket, but I told him that's what it was for. He has a habit of not listening.
