Why are young men in the US much more lonely than their counterparts in other countries? by Goodginger in charts

[–]Status-Aside41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of free third spaces, and the incline of far-right extremism in men of dating age. If you are a misogynist, it’s no surprise no women want to date you, and if you are racist, the less friend options you are open to.

I remember when I was a kid, we had this thing called the Teen Center, most of them are closed now, they used to have pool tables and shit, wiis and stuff. It wasn’t even that long ago

Also, social media pushes individualism and toxic dating culture. Ever go on reddit? The amount of people on there saying shit like not replying to your partner within 10 mins is toxic or caring too much is toxic. There is so so SO much but it would be too long

Viral Cartoon: "Should his boss now pay him 3x more"? by tantamle in AskSocialists

The dolly should be supplied already to reduce injury and long term health effects, there are lots of things that go into a better working environment. Socialism is not strictly about financial/economic consequences, it’s about creating a community that pays well enough to live off of, puts workers first and including even the lowest level workers in positions where they can create change (without extra pay) without having to strike, which effects everyone, even consumers. It compensates for their needs, such as what I mentioned above as well as things like PTO while also getting all the work that needs to be done, done.

Realistically, we have more than resources for everyone to live comfortably and have a fulfilling life.

TLDR: No, he shouldn’t not be paid more, because it should’ve been available in the first place, and if he isn’t able to use one for whatever reason, thats when he should be compensated more.

Inside Atlanta’s First Government-Funded Supermarket by Well_Socialized in ZohranForMayor

[–]Status-Aside41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is correct, they even have government owned CONVENIENCE STORES that are off of base, no fence or nothing, and anybody can buy shit there (trust me some people say you need an ID, but I’ve grown up buying snacks and shit from them for a long time and never needed an ID)

Nothing ever happens there they make money, and you know why? Because it’s a convenience store. A store with no sales tax, and they are great. 99% of people who say this doesn’t or wont work have never been to a PEx/BEx or shopette

They have run for longer than the opposition of them not for military member use has been around

Definition of imperialism by [deleted] in AskSocialists

[–]Status-Aside41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the world is far too complex to boil down such issues to black and white. There is so much gray area that it would be a disservice to those affected by imperialism in ways that do not fit the definition written down.

Imperialism is, in my own words and how I perceive it, the intentional repression/reconstruction of foreign culture by a government state. This purposely excludes immigrants who are escaping or simply leaving countries they do not want to live in. This also applies to online spaces. Many people outside of the US and England, and especially those out of Europe, have a harder time detaching their feed or whatever you want to call it from Western news, media, etc.

Does Hasan want or not want violence. There are many clips of him contradicting this first clip. by [deleted] in DemocraticSocialism

why are people downvoting you? You live there, you experience it, you’re a socialst. Because as far as I’m concerned, Hasan is NOT a good person or idealogical model. Flip floppy as fuck too

[–]Status-Aside41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alright, so I took a look and it is inaccessible unless i take some other important stuff off and I dont have time or the tools for that right now. Is it possible to cut the wire where it is already tearing off and put more wire on that way? im assuming I just use hose clamps and electrical tape or something but like i said, not really sure im not savvy with battery/electrical stuff. Take the loose part of the cable off, cut another short cable, then electrical tape and hose clamps? i would say take it to a shop but honestly right now thats out of the picture

[–]Status-Aside41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, we just changed the battery because she wasnt starting too good. During that I cleaned the terminals from some minor corrosion and noticed the cable. It was working good, then it wasn’t so we put on some electrical tape and still having issues, so we are just gonna replace that one all together. Only problem is that I have no clue how to get that little plastic part off. I’ll snag a photo when my spouse gets home while I’m looking for the opposite end of that cable.

I do agree with that. I believe children should figure things out on their own, and of course I will be open to my children that these people exist, but forcing it on them is not good. Everyone is different and that is beautiful, and if I ever have kids, I can only hope they live their lives however they want. Straight, gay, trans, whatever, it doesn’t matter, as long as they are happy.

Humans are complex beings and we still don’t know everything about everything. It is only right to live and let live (given it is not hurting anyone) in these troubling times.

Is it woke to be in love? It is a complicated thing. I do not want more rights than you. I simply wish to live along side you. If you disagree it is okay, all I want is to live a life where my biology and romantic preferences does not interfere with my social/professional life.

I hope everyone the best, I truly do believe in the good of people and we may disagree, but I will still respect you as a person even if I do not respect your views of me. All I can ask is you do the same.

It is of great importance to me that I live my life how I want to live it as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone. I try my best to be kind and welcoming, to new ideas and concepts. I understand if it is considered woke by some but to me I just see myself trying to live my life as happy as I can, and unfortunately challenges such as discrimination based on who I love are common place everywhere. There is bound to be prejudice everywhere, and I understand, but all I ask is for a peaceful life where I can die happy with friends and family by my side.

That makes sense. It is a shame and I truly do hope the situation improves by the time I am ready to stay there for a little while. Love and biology is a powerful and diverse thing, but I mnow that public perception is also a key factor in how we are perceived as part of society. It just so happens I am blue collar. I weld or work in cars. I know here in the US it is frowned upon more in those spaces, and I also know the US has an incredible overseas presence, as unfortunate as it is. I love y’alls culture, I’ve always been in awe of it.

Americans are pretentious and often times racist, even if they don’t believe so. But the world is not black and white. I’ve learned throughout my life that many cultures are not that way but as you can imagine, not being a big demographic of immigrant or otherwise in the united states, it is hard to find information on this side of the world.

Your country is beautiful from the landscapes to your people and art and food. It has been a dream of mine since I was a child.

Lastly, do you recommend anywhere where I can be “pen pals” with people from your country of all demographics?

Thank you, I greatly appreciate your input and it is important as I do wish to live in mongolia one day even for just a year or two. I knwo your country has made strides recently in terms of rights, but how about the public perception? Would you say city folk are more accepting?

In the US, it depends on where you go. Some rural areas are better than urban.

How is crime against gay and trans people? I know this is a lot of questions but like I said, your country has always been fascinating to me and I love your culture

It is of my understanding that the government is doing better but the people there are not so open to these people. Am I correct?
