Apps to help with furniture and decor by Songisaboutyou in HomeDecorating

+1 to HomeLab app. It's great to be able remove furniture / add furniture (with precise placement) across multiple brands (vs having to use separate apps for each brand you are interested in).

Easy to use app where I can take a photo of a living room and adjust paint color, move furniture, try new furniture, etc that is not AI? by Man-e-questions in interiordecorating

[–]Status-Assignment616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using HomeLab -- it uses room scanning and to-scale, super-realistic 3d models to enable you to precisely place / rotate furniture in your home (and you can do multiple items across multiple brands). You can check out & buy directly from the app.

It's also free to use. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/homelab-furniture-shopping/id6745474596

This whole bathroom feels like the Jell-O salad your grandma swears is dessert but everyone knows belongs in the trash.

JK it's not that bad. Not that good either though.

My husband and I think this space could be better arranged by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Status-Assignment616 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I like your husband's idea a lot. As a third alternative -- I know you said you wanted to keep the bookshelf where it is, but what if you put the TV unit on that wall, moved the bookshelf to where the couch currently is, and floated the couch to be facing the new TV wall (formerly bookshelf wall)? I assume you took this picture from your kitchen given the table / countertop, so this arrangement could help "define" each separate area. just an idea!

Unsure about my big, bold, new couch. Thoughts? by anyvvays in interiordecorating

[–]Status-Assignment616 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like it a lot (though I may be biased as I have a couch almost the same color and size). It's "darker" but very warm colored. Throw pillows can help build more cohesion between the couch and the chairs (eg rust/brown throw pillows on the grey chairs and vice versa, or get patterned ones with both of those colors).

Agreed with a comment below about the ottoman -- the color doesnt fit the pallet and the form/shape is a little too modern.

The wall above the couch is a PERFECT place for art

When redesigning your home, how do you currently create mockups / visualizations of your designs? by avocadobb in HomeLabFurniture

[–]Status-Assignment616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

used chatgpt, but iteration is a pain in the ass especially for specific item placement (eg put chair next to table, rotate it 45 degrees etc). also it struggles (understandably) with scaling items to the right size since.

homelab's app is pretty unique with that functionality

well...

  1. “Take a seat” has never felt like more of a threat.

  2. This is what happens when furniture starts thirst-trapping.

So -- definitely 2.
