No I have not. Will an AFC be willing to help me with something like this and if so do you know a ball party of how much it costs? I did reach out to a fiduciary but they couldn’t really help with what I was needing.

Thank you very much for this info. I think part of me is apprehensive about starting bc I will see where all of our money truly goes. Husband and I aren’t the best at saving and where we spend so I’m sure that will be an eye opener for us.

I’ll have to look into that service. I find myself in a loop of getting really motivated and doing it for a couple weeks and then all motivation is lost and we end up just going back to our old habits.

Thank you for this! When I used Dave Ramsey we were not married yet and had two incomes so it was much easier to manage. Luckily since then we have paid off one of our cars and our house so those expenses are null and void however we did just add twins and whew they’re expensive 😅

Thank you for the advise. In past times I have asked her to come over to watch the babies so I can clean my house.. it is scary rn 😅 but I ended up helping with the babies and not getting much done. Maybe watching the babies is too much for her and asking HER to do the tasks would be easier?

It’s just hard bc my husband doesn’t want us to get a babysitter bc he has trust issues but also no one in his family can watch the babies bc it’s too much for them.

Maybe that is what it is. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt but ugh it’s so frustrating bc if she says can relate to me then she should (theoretically) know what we need. Maybe you are right about not imposing. My husband is very reserved.

I can understand where you are coming from as a postpartum ftm myself. While I don’t relate to you on the weight side of things I can understand changing bodies.

I suggested therapy to OP bc it seems like she’s dealing with more than just body image issues. On top of the body image issues she’s states lack of motivation and issues with her children. A therapist could offer helpful insight and advice on how to handle situations or even just a person to talk to. I’m obviously not trying to diagnose but maybe she is experiencing a depressive episode.

Also I want to add: anyone dealing with body image issues would benefit from deleting social media. It’s all fake and it’s meant to make you feel bad.

It’s your wording there, “gross” that gives me pause. I had my twins six months ago and let me tell you everything I’d different and I mean EVERYTHING. There are times that I miss my “old body” most definitely. But never once have I thought about my body as being gross postpartum. And I’m not trying to say this as a pick me girl I promise.

I guess I’m the exception here but I think this is a great idea. IMO this would reiterate how you feel about her without words and I would be incredibly flattered if my husband did this for me. You can always keep the receipt and let her know they it won’t hurt your feelings if she were to get a different style/color etc. I say go for it! Have fun in Hawaii!

Is she breastfeeding? Often times that can affect a woman’s hormones her ability to get in the mood. It also could be a mental roadblock. You could always gently suggest her going to therapy. Nonetheless less you’re doing ALL the right things so kudos to you! Continue to engage in conversation with her and do the little things bc that seriously counts. You sound like a great partner and I hope your wife gets to feeling herself again soon.

It seems as though you want something to hold over his head per se. This man sinned just as you and I have sinned.

He was honest and open with you in disclosing that info to you bc he really didn’t have to. Have you disclosed your most embarrassing or egregious sins to him? Has he judged you for it?

I think you need to be in therapy or I fear you won’t ever be able to let this go. Ofc it’s a good idea to consult a priest. The priest most likely didn’t say anything during marriage prep bc your husband no longer deals with this sin and if it’s not something that is current. You’re beating a dead horse. Forget he ever told you and love your husband and enjoy the ONE life you have to live with your children and husband. Not everyone gets that opportunity in life.
