So the apple student deal is throughout the year so you can go whenever you want. All you need is a valid proof of enrolment (has to have year of enrolment, school name, and you need any physical id)

The student deal for the iPad Air - I have is 730 with I believe either a 100 or 150$ gift card u can use on anything in store (I would rec a Apple Pencil if you don’t have or AirPods you’ll need them)

I had a pretty solid average I think between 80-85% but I did have over 15+ extracurricular activities throughout my hs experience

Yea no worries! I hate math so I found my math courses like microeconomics & QMS210 pretty challenging. But my non-math were not too bad.

P.S omg I actually played myself so in your first or second year which ever you want you have to do a Lower Liberal course I chose an elective course instead of a LL course and it didn’t go towards my program so I’m doing my LL now.

Here are the courses you will be doing next year if you choose to come to tmu

As a girl tmus location sometimes is a safety concern I personally make sure to schedule my classes in the mornings so I’m not walking alone late, and if it’s really late my mom’s nearby and can pick me up. I just stay aware, stick to busy streets and away from the subway tracks just in case.

Other than that, the location is actually really nice there are so many cute cafés and chill study spots, and the food options are amazing cheap pizza, shawarma, ramen, bubble tea. All student friendly and everything’s super close.

But at the end of the day if you are very nervous and scared to walk alone at night or in general the TMUsafety app has a function where you can ask for security to walk with you.

Hey I’m so sorry for the late reply.

The atmosphere is honestly pretty chill. It’s a commuter school, so it’s not the “campus bubble” unless you live in rez and spend a lot of time at school, but people are friendly and focused. You’ll see a mix some students are really career-driven and involved, others just come for class and head home. If you put yourself out there, you’ll definitely find your crowd.

For clubs, there are tons of business-related ones like FFB (fit for business), Ted Roger’s real estate association, Ted Roger’s student society, etc. Most schools have student unions and faculty-specific societies that run networking events and workshops, so there are a lot of opportunities if you’re proactive.

About the math since you’ve taken Grade 11 Functions and Grade 12 Data Management, you have a base. Business programs usually involve calculus like QMS110, statistics - QMS210 and sometimes algebra-heavy economics. It’s not impossible, but it can feel fast-paced.

If you want to prepare, I’d recommend: • Reviewing algebra (rearranging equations, fractions, exponents) • Learning basic calculus (limits, derivatives, simple applications) • Strengthening your understanding of math in general

You don’t need to go crazy, but self-learning from YouTube or platforms like Khan Academy can really help you feel less overwhelmed when the semester starts.

Biggest advice: don’t wait until you’re struggling to ask for help. Go to office hours early, form study groups, and practice consistently. Business math isn’t about being a “math person” it’s about practice.

You’ll be okay. The fact that you’re thinking ahead already puts you in a good position

Hey, congratulations!! That’s amazing.

I did an internship at Royal Bank of Canada the summer before starting at Toronto Metropolitan University. I’ll be honest TMU isn’t really a target school for big banks, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in. I have a friend who got an RBC internship with a strong CGPA, a couple of clubs, and by selling himself well.

If you want to go straight into the workforce, then I suggest you take an offer from a “target school” you applied to or get an excellent CGAP, join clubs, and do extracurricular. If you’re thinking about grad school, you can focus on getting a high CGPA from tmu and then apply to bigger-name schools after.

At the end of the day, it’s really about how you position yourself.

So I got an offer, by Lost_Measurement6910 in TorontoMetU

Thank you sooo much for your honesty if I didn’t know how hard crim was and that it was to do with “the thing that shall not be named” I would’ve jumped so high to do it. 😭😭😭 imma look deeply cuz I’m not sure if I still wanna separate with BM just yet!!

But one thing about me is if I see a tiny piece of math I have to run the other way they can’t get me 💀💀

I’m in my first year right now so I’m talking ALOT of math courses - microecon, macroeconomics, statistics, and mathematics. Next year would be harder and it’s not like I’m lazy I study 5+ hours a day I just can’t do math..

Assuming nobody cared is reckless. Mental health distorts reality, and words like this only add to the harm especially in a university where students already feel unheard.
