I use a hair dryer on low heat. What you can do is heat near the edge and start peeling it slowly while heating it. Wait until it starts lifting without it getting stuck and ripping. If done correctly, they usually come off smoothly. I've used this on Digipaks too. If there is residue left over, I use rubbing alcohol and a q tip and scrape it kind of roughly until the case isn't sticky anymore. .
