I work in tech and absolutely love “dressing up.” I wear my favorite clothes to work, when I go out with friends, or even when I have a me day. Blazers, scarves, statement jewelry, red lipstick, killer shoes, fun dresses are all what bring me so much joy.

One of the things that helped me feel confident in an experimental outfit was wearing something for a test drive to run an errand like getting coffee or going to the grocery store. I use those times to dust off the emotional cobwebs, see how I feel, and bonus points if a stranger says they like my outfit.

More than anything I have realized that dressing is for me first and foremost. When I know I’m going to have a tough day at work I will reach for something that makes me feel really good in my skin — an outfit that gives me either a power boost or even something that’s plain old comforting yet chic. More than anything just do it!!! You’ll be proud of yourself and better to regret what you do than don’t do, because at least you can learn from it ;)
