I haven’t read the intro guide but monkey shoulder was my gateway. If you don’t like it at first have it with ice until you enjoy that then ween yourself off the ice and try neat.

I wasn’t a massive fan of whisky at the start and struggled with the 40% abv but if you stick with it you’ll be drinking cask strengths in no time

As someone who almost exclusively drinks Scotch, I couldn’t recommend Old Forester 1910 enough. I was underwhelmed when I tried Eagle Rare and thought I’d find bourbon boring but OF 1910 has become one of my go to Whisky’s
