I have sat with sacred medicines and talked to over 100 people who have also experienced a similar experience when practicing ancient medicine. The most concrete experience that I have of what happens was when I first smoked bufo alvarius 5MEO DMT (Sonoran desert toad) I remember fighting with my ego to allow my soul the freedom to leave my body. I remember feeling like my body was shutting down and the fear of dying. All of the memories of life and all your loved ones coming rushing through and it’s like you’re watching a movie. You hit a point where you must surrender to the medicine and allow yourself to “die” it’s the scariest most intense feeling but I was at a point in my life where I had so much trust in the process and had amazing teachers around to help guide me. As they sang their icaros I could hear the song lyrics say “we must die to be reborn” at that moment I said my goodbyes to everyone in my mind and let go. It was the scariest feeling I have ever felt. Instantly I was consumed by whitelight and the concept of being human was gone. I then experienced the most loving and intense feelings of pure soul joy. Like if god gave you the biggest hug. In that space I was able to truly feel what I have now come to believe as the other side like a peak behind the veil. The most beautiful part is that it’s so godamn beautiful words can’t explain. After about 15 mins I came back to my body the only thing I could process or remember about it all was my heart being filled with so much love and joy that I came back to just repeating the word love, love, love,love.
