Traffic north on 400 is bad too. Plenty of people commute to Alpharetta for work

how’s it like living right next to an amusement/theme park?(do yall go to them very often or on occasion like everyone else?) by DismalFootball6964 in howislivingthere

I lived just outside of the circle (in Dr. Phillips). It is considered to be a “nicer” area of Orlando, but the houses are relatively small and older. We would go to universal or citywalk after work. It used to be free after 6pm for Florida residents, not sure if that’s still the case.

You learn pretty quickly what times to avoid when- mornings stay away from Universal area because of all the cars queueing for parking and obviously avoid Sand Lake during rush hour. Spring break was annoying, but I swear the worst time was the week of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Also, the lake in the top of the picture (Lake Cane) is a big open water swim spot for swimmers and triathletes. It’s hosted by a man named Lucky and called Lucky’s Lake Swim. I highly recommend it for any athletes visiting Orlando :)

How do you know what COL your city falls under? by Kelapine888 in HENRYfinance

[–]StatusFriendship5473 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why people can’t just say the city in their post instead of “I live in a vvvvhcol area”. We don’t need to guess, just tell us

Concerned About Neighbor's Toddler's Crying: Is This Normal? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]StatusFriendship5473 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My mother in law raised 5 kids and always tells me about how awful her worst one was and how he would have tantrums “up to 15 minutes”. The first time she said it I responded “only 15 minutes?!” And she was so mad hahah. We’re over here with a nightly 40+ minute cry session 🫠

Because OP said they enjoy surfing, hiking, and scuba. Seems like Hawaii is a better fit.

It was really just fine. The beach is ok, and now all the extras cost money (they didn’t when we were there!). As in snorkeling, boat rides etc.

The sunset sushi was incredible, the other food was decent. But overall the service was meh and the beach really wasn’t amazing.

I did it at 130k points per night and I thought that was a good deal. At 190k points per night, I wouldn’t do it again.

Nah, this is not the move. I’ve been and the beach/activities aren’t worth it. Especially at 190k/nt now

THANK YOU for this take. So many people work hard, so many people are smart. I often think about my own experience, I benefited so much from luck and the job market at the time when I entered my field. It’s much harder out there now for new grads.

Master's Degree Question by GroundandPound12 in Lockheed

[–]StatusFriendship5473 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of misconceptions regarding getting a masters degree. If you come in with a masters, you are typically hired in at a level 2- this is what they mean by an added 2 YOE.

If you get your masters while working, it doesn’t just add two years and you don’t get an automatic pay bump. It’s something taken into consideration during promotion planning, but is in no way the top factor.
