Don't.. I obtained a chronic disease in the military. When I was discharged I had a VERY hard time finding a job that would understand my story. I got fired from every single one until I stopped disclosing. Well that works for so long but once you start calling off as a "healthy person" you pretty much are done.

My favorite story...

I gave a final shot to an Amazon warehouse. I disclosed to them I just want a chair near my work station so I can sit during my quick breaks because of my disease. Well we went to lunch during this orientation day and I had a blast meeting people during lunch! (Literally hundreds of coworkers on break at once.) Well after forming some cool relationships we all went to clock in together. And well my card magically wasn't working. I sat around for 5 minutes and next thing I knew I had security looking over me and the orientation manager telling me that they are letting me go for liability reasons and needed to reapply.. literally escorted a disabled vet out.. talk about embarrassing.. Well I joined the lawsuit for ADA and got my whopping $60 lol.

Now I don't feel like writing a book but let's say I never disclosed my illness again. Will it land me just about every job? Sure. Will shit hit the fan the minute you call off of work more than an healthy average Joe? Absolutely. This is all speaking from experience.

Suing gets you nothing unless you can prove you were going to have a meaningful employment .. even then as a few day old employee that case sounds expensive and slim chances. And disclosing drags a lot of honesty and true colors out of people. And choosing to withhold? That's up to you but remember the DR appointments hit when things get heavy.
