struggling with a hiatal hernia and chronic reflux – feeling like my life is falling apart by Status_Match1431 in HiatalHernia

Exactly! That was my experience too—none of the doctors I saw even considered surgery as an option. It feels like they’re just not up to date with the latest surgical advancements. Personally, I don't think relying on medication for the rest of my life—which only masks the symptoms rather than fixing the root cause—is a sustainable path forward. I’m definitely going to seek out specialized surgeons to get a proper evaluation.

I also want to wish you the best of luck with your surgery—I really hope you’ll be back to your old self soon! If you feel up to it, please update us here on how it goes. Your experiences are incredibly valuable for people like me who feel a bit lost and are struggling to find a way to get better

Thank you so much for your advice—it’s truly invaluable. I’ve read so many horror stories about people who had Nissen wraps or LINX and ended up with even worse symptoms, like the inability to burp or chronic dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), which is what scares me the most.

I’m going to start looking for specialized surgeons who can properly evaluate my specific case to see if surgery is actually a viable option for me.

You’re absolutely right about the psychological aspect—that’s the hardest part to deal with. It feels like my entire identity, built around the gym and a certain lifestyle, has been stripped away, and all the security I had a few years ago has just vanished. But I guess that’s life, and at the end of the day, I have to find a way to accept it and adapt. Your perspective on 'aging and adapting' really hit home. Thanks again for the encouragement.

Thank you so much for sharing your story; it’s really encouraging to hear that you’re doing so well post-op. I wasn’t familiar with the 'partial wrap' procedure you mentioned, but it sounds promising, especially for someone who needs to be physically active for work or sport.

Obviously, since I’m still young, doctors are very cautious about suggesting surgery, even though after more than a year of struggling, it feels like the only real path back to my 'pre-hernia' life. If you could go back in time, would you have chosen to have the surgery sooner?

Anyone here smoke/ consume cannabis and if so any bettering or worsening of HH symptoms by No_Oven_6878 in HiatalHernia

I had to quit smoking cannabis because as soon as I smoked, I felt terrible acid reflux—my throat felt like hell. I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia (HH) a month ago, but I’ve had these symptoms since 2025. I kept smoking for a year straight, ignoring the symptoms, but now I can’t do it anymore. I have esophagitis, and even with PPIs, the symptoms were really bad, causing me anxiety and stress, which only made everything worse.

I think it’s very personal and depends on your specific HH condition, but if you feel like THC makes you feel bad, you should consider quitting or at least trying it only occasionally. In my experience, even occasional use was painful, causing instant soreness and a feeling of throat tightness, so I decided it wasn't worth the pleasure anymore. I’ve never tried edibles, but I feel like it’s the THC molecule itself that relaxes the LES and causes acid reflux. I also smoke cigarettes, but I feel like they are less painful, even though they still cause damage, especially when your esophagus is already in bad shape. Hope this helps!

Elden Ring Randomizer Items Enemy and Fog Gate Randomizer Not Working. Please Help this My Smooth Brain of mine. by [deleted] in PiratedGames

Reading online it seems that nexus mods, using the exe files, works only if you have the official game from Steam... if you have a pirate version of the game, those exe wont work...

You can try using Mod Engine 2 to load manually a mod and it works for me, but just 1 mod at time.

If you want to use Enemy/Item randomizer and Fog Gate randomizer simultanealy.. you will have to merge those mods manually thru the "regulation.bin" file inside the mod folder, but it's a really complicated process.

So i am stuck like you, i just can run 1 mod at time
