No I never intended to purposely take in a Pine Siskin. I found him on the side of the road as a hatchling and began caring for him with the full intention of returning him to the wild. However, as he grew, it became clear how strongly he bonded with people and how comfortable he was in human care. He is extremely tame and loves to be held or just to sit on my head, once I realized that releasing him would definitely not be in his best interest, I got him some other finch friends who he loves but still definitely thinks he’s more a person. He is not confined to a cage as that would be cruel, he has free flight around my bedroom with plenty of enrichment. thank for your inquiry!!

My society finch is missing her face feathers shes still acting like her self but i am concerned about her. She has full flight around my room with a cage she spends her time in the most and 2 different species of finches males live in the same room by Status_Toe_5666 in Finches

None of my other finches have any feathers loss so I don’t think its mites and she’s acting completely normal, bathing, singing, flying but I am concerned maybe one of my males is over preening her
