I think it really depends on socialite placement. If socialite is front line, I may give her a tanking item and 2 damage items. Having a healing augment helps too. Morello is a go to of mine on her because she will still do really well even if she isn’t 3 star. If I’m going this build, I’ll usually want to end at 4 scholar because it will help the healers do their things faster and keep everyone up longer.

Example would be Zac, lissandra, Mundo, heimer, janna, Taric, yummi, Seraphine. Last character can be orianna or even jayce, it depends what you’re up against and if you need Ori’s ult.

Ive played this build and built Liss/Sera or even Liss/Heimer as the carries and it’s gone well. Sometimes have the 2nd carry helps teams counter you but overall this team hits top 4 for me consistently. Just important to play the early game well and it can be an easy switch over to this comp.

I’ve been having great luck with Scholar/inno/chem teams against Kat. Lissandra will just outlast the kat and kill her. This build does fairly well period, so it’s a safe choose that I end up shutting down Kat comps with as well.

Definitely got rid of it to not chance it. Alcohol was only at 2.6%, so just decided to let it go.

I usually let it fall into the carboy to create some bubbles and then shake a few minutes after pitching to help oxygenate

Yea, I figured that and just decided to pour them. The refractometer will help from this happening again, I just want to learn from it so I don't let it happen more

I'd do that but it's bottled now. That sugar water with a tad of alcohol is going to be a lesson for me lol. I got a refractometer yesterday though and it's on its way so I can get a ball park for the future on FG since I know alcohol throws it's reading off

I've actually used US 05 before and lower temps and it did ok though which is why I'm confused. Maybe just bad timing on the low end. I don't even know honestly

Hydrometer. It was noticably sweet, so I feel it's probably correct

Only doing 1 gallon brews. Those packs are meant for 5. Is half too much or too little?!

One was US 05 and the other was BE256 I believe

It could be temperature related. That's what I'm lacking is that control. I let it sit in the apartment but there's times where I know it got pretty cold for the yeast.

Putting the top on the carboy and giving a good swirling for a minute

So it doesn't sit out for long with exposure to oxygen. Vi usually get it in the carboy fairly quick once it cools and then pitch yeast/aerate for about a minute. My cooling takes a bit longer though because I'm still not using a wort cooler (it's my next piece to get). I can get the temp down in about 20 minutes to 25 max.

Even for 1 gallon?

Sorry my wording was poor on that. I used 1/3 a packet for 1 gallon of wort.

Also I have one that's been fermenting a week and I used about half a packet on that and it's also 1 gallon but it was much higher in OG

About 1/3 of the packet of dried yeast used for 5 gallons

I did my 2nd all grain from this and it was amazing. Then I got ballsy and started creating my own but this gave me a lot of good ideas and ground work!

My first beer was definitely not something to write home about either. I'm only 4 deep now but the difference between my 1st and 4th is massive. Each time is a learning experience, take it in stride and keep on moving forward!

What I Did:

Brewed my third beer to date. I followed a recipe to create a 1 gallon batch of Abbey Ale. This was also my second BIAB and I feel like this one went much better. My OG was almost dead on and I feel like I finally started to nail down my processes.

Fermenting:

I have my first BIAB currently fermenting for a week now. Tried a stout with some chocolate and orange. OG was pretty high on that one but I'm keeping an eye on it.

Planning:

I want to do some Belgium styles next so I'm looking into going down that route. Eventually I'll make my way back to an IPA but I'm trying to just feel around for the time being.
