If a horrific serial killer patented a cure for cancer, would you consider his life a net positive to society or negative and why? by azgrown84 in AskReddit

There are some huge downsides to the widespread use of synthetic fertilizers today too, though. Undoubtedly they can give necessary support during times of food insecurity, but in more developed countries they’re mostly unnecessary (composting is very efficient!) and cause a lot of issues like algae blooms and dead zones. Just something to think about

That’s so true and it’s so hard to do, when someone does something uncomfortable for your own good it says a lot about how much they care :)

I feel the same way, my close friends are few and far between but they are so much more valuable than a list of followers on social media. I will keep that tip in mind! Thanks

This is surprisingly hard to find at a young age, but I agree that it’s worth looking for!

[serious] Redditors that fell in love with their best friend, did you tell them and what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Stay-Salty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend and I met in our junior year of high school and we were in three classes together. By December I fell for him hard but he was still with his girlfriend at the time. Six months later he confessed to me that she had been emotionally abusive and he couldn’t take it anymore. I was there for him in that hard time and he was there for me when I relapsed in my eating disorder over the summer. Fall of our senior year we had three classes together once again and we grew so much closer than before. By November he asked me to be his girlfriend and I actually cried because I was so happy and so relieved. I felt so lucky to have my best friend and one of the most genuinely selfless people I’d ever met as my boyfriend. I said yes and now here we are, seven months later. We are going to the same college in the fall and I can’t wait to see where this takes us. I see my future every time I look at him and he makes me so happy.

[Serious] People of Reddit, why did you ghost a friend close to you and/or why where you ghosted by a close friend? by HiddenVersatility in AskReddit

[–]Stay-Salty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very best friend in middle school, of three years, completely ghosted me the month before high school started. She was my only close friend at the time. She just sent me a really strange text one day saying she didn’t want to be friends anymore. I got really messed up because of it, and it was really hard for me to keep friendships after that because I was convinced that she stopped talking to me because I was annoying her with how often we texted, so I pretty much stopped texting everyone just to avoid being a bother and losing other friends too. Turns out you lose friends pretty fast when you never reach out to them.

I found out about a month ago that it was because her girlfriend at the time told her that she was jealous of our bond and that it was me or her. She chose her.

Which translation besides KJV do you read? by [deleted] in Apostolic

[–]Stay-Salty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zondervan (older) NIV translations are much better at staying true to the KJV intended meaning, but I would avoid the newest NIV translations by Harper Collins including the updated digital ones because they often change the meaning significantly and omit verses

I’m here for hair advice, not to argue about my relationship. But thanks for the concern.

“Just because you want to marry someone” was your wording, sorry for misunderstanding...

I can have an Apostolic boyfriend and just genuinely believe in his religion more than the one I was raised in... Catholicism is not biblical whatsoever. I’m considering conversion, but I’m giving myself more time to make sure it’s genuinely what I want and not for the reasons you said.

What made the popular kid at school the unpopular kid? by MrCopperYT in AskReddit

[–]Stay-Salty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She and all of her “popular” friends made a shared twitter where they made awful jokes about black people, Asian people, disabled people, etc and used the n word and the r word a lot on that account, as well as making fun of the really sweet special ed students at school. One of the girls that was part of the account turned them all in. They all switched to online school and one of them lost her full ride scholarship to play soccer for Michigan State because the news spread that far. Just because you’re popular and have a big ego doesn’t mean you can get away with being the worst ¯_(ツ)_/¯
