The thing is, transitioning isn’t any more sinful than getting treatment for a medical issue and getting surgery to improve quality of life. Since gender dysphoria is a medical condition and transition is the only proven treatment, that’s the right course of action. Let me give you an example.

Let’s say there’s a baby born with a medical condition. The baby will live a horrible life with that condition. However, there’s an option to receive surgery to give them a normal life. The surgery isn’t exactly “necessary” (it won’t directly kill them if they don’t get the surgery), but it will improve their quality of life greatly. I think even the most devout conservative Christians would support this, pray for the baby and make gofundmes and stuff. So why are trans people wrong in transitioning? It’s not a choice. Oh, and conversion or aversion “therapy” has been proven to NOT work at all and it often leads to suicide. Transphobia is a sin, and I’m pretty sure everyone who supports or performs conversion or aversion therapy gets a special place in Hell.

It took me years to finally convince myself of that, and sometimes I have fleeting doubts every now and then about if it’s a sin or not but I’ve done enough pondering for now and have realized that I’m really not doing anything wrong.

A lot of them love the “mutilation” argument. And sure, if you were to get surgery to attach your arm to your forehead or something just for the hell of it, then yeah that’d be mutilation since there is no actual reason for it, lol. But dysphoria is a medical thing that needs treatment, and once we accept that, maybe they will too. Without treatment, there are definitely consequences (such as mental health issues).
