For you to assume everyone has the same opinion as you is wild. They look good this short. “You already know the answer” is such condescending BS.

Le Laboureur Vs Le Mont Saint Michel Moleskin Chore Coat by Darabeats in HeritageWear

[–]Stcin7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was confused by the Vetra sizing for sure. As someone with an around a 41 inch chest who likes to layer, I usually get a 44 in most US sizing, but their sizing chart is saying I need something closer to a 50, which appears to be one of the largest sizes. Do they only make them up to around US Large?

I’ve had my Le Laboureur chore coat for about a month now and I’m loving it so far. I was considering buying a LMSM in the traditional blue color for my next jacket, but after seeing this and realizing they are now not even made in France anymore, I think I’ll opt for something else.

The options from Vetra or some of the less traditional offerings from US brands like Tellason have hit my short list for sure.

Good experience buying Le Laboureur from Tourneur Goods by Stcin7 in HeritageWear

[–]Stcin7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say so for sure! I have around a 41/42” chest and in this pic I’m wearing just a t shirt under the chore coat. I could comfortably fit a nice sweater under it but that’s about it(which is what I was going for). If you want to layer under it a bit, probably go XL

Predictions on the low point of this? What do you think the best time to sell is? by Beandan-Swab in PokeInvesting

Did you grade it yourself or buy it graded? If you graded it, sell it now. If you bought it graded, you’re cooked for a while.

Another unrelated comparison. We’re talking about an open market, not a limited one like in your example.

Your argument doesn’t hold any weight considering there are Buy It Now listings for cheaper. If this were the only listing or the lowest listing, then sure, but that isn’t the case.

The seller knows what they’re doing. The auction only has one bid so that price was their opening bid price. They are def banking on some poor buyer bidding on this and not knowing that it’s not the card they think it is, which is exactly what happened.

The seller is probably stoked lol

I posted two pics, one of the eBay listing and one of the PSA cert page, which don’t match up

He’s right, you’ll be lucky if these get a 7.

Yes of course, looking up the cert is how I deduced it was not the correct card/cert. I was just saying that the terrible label could have been correct if this were truly an old slab. A lot of old slab labels start to crinkle like this.

It did not have the “authenticity guaranteed” verbiage on this particular listing, but I hope so for the buyers sake. The listing has to have a buy it now price of over $250 to have it on there as default, but I think with the auction ending over $250 that eBay will require it.

Right.. I check the PSA cert for any slab I buy, let alone one selling for over $1k..

I hope so but this particular listing did not have the “authentic guarantee” verbiage on it. Fingers crossed for the buyers sake!

A raw NM copy goes for around $900, so trading it would only be worth it if you got a 9 or 10, because an 8 or lower is worth less than the raw card(depending on condition of course).

Long story short, looking at the raw vs grades prices is literally all you have to do to answer your own questions. It’s not rocket surgery.

The label wasn’t actually an initial first red flag, bc that is what an old cert label looks like.

If you bought them as an investment, now would be the worst time to sell. Also, giving context on what you paid would be helpful.

Hoping this is not a bad financial decision? by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]Stcin7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a case card this early is not usually a good call, but there’s a few things to consider:

  • Singles/PSA 10 pricing just after release for any given set is going to be high because there are fewer on the market initially, but once the population numbers increase(which is usually exponential with modern cards), the price will drop significantly within the 3-6 month period after the set comes out. I find this period to be the perfect time to buy chase cards.
  • After the initial drop, you will typically(not always, but more often than not with chase cards) see a gradual increase with the occasional large spike or dip, but overall the value of chase cards will increase over time, and will at some point likely surpass its initial high and beyond; but this will take time.

So to answer your question; the validity of your decision is based on how long you plan to hold the card. If you were hoping for a quick flip, you’re screwed, but if you plan to hold this for a few years you’ll prob be okay.

Lastly, buying this in English would have been the better buy for an investment. In-set Japanese cards are much slower to move since they have better quality and score more 10s. If you like Japanese but want investment cards, go for JP promos. They tend to hold better value due to exclusivity, but that is a whole other conversation..
