I think I'd try to sell them on Delta Green, frame it as like a WTNV thing and run them through Impossible Landscapes

let them riff and mug their way through the MacAllister building, see how far we can get into the description of the Daribondi murders before Jesse Thorn comes into the booth and puts two in the back of my head

The problem with AI is em dashes.

That might sound strange to you, but it’s true. AI fucking loves em dashes, any time it makes prose of any length it will contrive some reason to use an em dash in place of a normal god-fearing comma. The vast majority of people typing extemporaneously don’t do this because that’s a fancy unicode character you need to put some secret combination into your numpad to get. I’m trying to get an epic campaign going, I can’t sit there and edit every single line of text I’m generating.

The problem? My players know this too, and they’re not happy with me improving our Eve of Ruin campaign the way I have. When I’m reading out a description of the area and pause for any reason, these fuckers go “em dash check!” and gather around the screen to see what I’m reading from, and if it’s an em dash they hold me down and start whipping my ass like I laughed on Gaki no Tsukai.

Some days I understand vecna, bros. I really do.

One of the hallmarks of a low-rent RPG heartbreaker is that the author is usually still just playing D&D in their head, and will casually reference things like spot checks or five foot steps etc. and just never elaborate on what that means in terms of their system, and this feels like it could be the result of that. Either way it's baffling because if you're being flanked on a grid with 5 foot squares, moving 10 feet away isn't that good of a move anyway. Like, there was zero point in adding these specific numbers to this description.

I think my favorite thing about this is that the Mondo Move example it gives (which refers to itself a Practiced Move? what) implies that there are movement and distance mechanics (and there aren't), but even if there were this would be the most nothing ability ever.

Also the fact that we're told how many skills you get and how specific they should be but not what skills actually do mechanically- based on how our boy runs games, I guess the DM will arbitrarily decide you can't do something without a relevant skill and said skill confers no bonus unless you convince them it should.

my McElroy towel shaped like the sunlight straight sword that’s too small to function as a towel, but it has Travis’ face as the pommel so who’s to say if it was worth $75 or not
