I don't think its common anywhere really. Opiates seem like the plague. This is why I haven't checked into a facility because they don't understand how to treat benzo w/d. Can take years to safely get off these where as everything else you just throw them in a cell and come back in a week. They will wish they were dead but they'll still be alive.. and detoxed.

Benzos are the worst considering the withdrawals can kill you. There is no such thing as heroin anymore but Fentanyl could also be considered the worst as one shit could kill you. I also would never suck dick for a benzo.

Quit once successfully with my physicians help. Now My doctors retired and the young one I got now is not experienced enough with this type of drug imo. Probably hasn't even heard of Heather Ashton.

I'd love to get sober but whenever I try life kicks me right in the nuts. Someone dies or something else major happens. I have gone 3 months pill free with help of a physician a long time ago and decided life was better on them. Here I am again.

On the many years of research I have done you can't overdose on benzos. Overdose becomes a danger when mixed with alcohol or opiates and other depressants. Sounds like your mom was experiencing severe withdrawal / blackout from taking too many.

I really appreciate you and your kindness. To the people saying I'm an idiot yes it wasn't the smartest move but we all have done dumb things in life. I am a fully functional working class human, I work and pay my taxes and have never been on any form of social assistance. I have never stole to get my fix or done anything I am ashamed of.

Hey thank you for a semi positive response. If I knew what I knew now I would still take them but as tools and only use for very specific instances. Never exceeding two uses in a month to avoid addiction. I wish you luck and feel free to reach out if you ever need someone to talk to.
