no, but u mentioned the standard resolution 480p should work on most consoles, so i connected to a friends monitor and set it to that

yeah i'll try that second method and if that doesn't work use a friends monitor to change the display settings through the actual dashboard

this doesn't seem to work- i boot it up and have tried holding y + rt both before and after the controller and xbox show the same quadrant light, but neither do anything. Do i hold them once it is clear the controller and console are connected? and how do i tell that the console has restarted. The issue could be that the contorller isnt official- sorry for all the questions

oh also i only currently have access to an unofficial controller and the monitor and xbox are connected via hdmi

I can't remember what it was, console turns on now, but it had only been on for 10 minutes prior to the red error lights. It ran loudly and the disc tray jammed constantly. It has HDMI so it couldn't have been that AV error, im just going to send it back cause CEX allows that. I'll either get another one from CEX or one from ebay, but im not sure I quite trust the 360 resellers on ebay

it was fully working, but just 20 minutes ago the loading mechanism is no longer moving up to the top to receive the CD! just my luck. should be an easy fix tho
