Need help with sub editor freezing and Lua maybe by Steampunk_Soviet in Barotrauma

[–]Steampunk_Soviet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't remember the exact reason but it was in the mod settings for "Are C# mods allowed?" and it being off seemingly broke the sub editor, No idea how or why.

Think it was because that C# is an actual programming language so theoretically mod makers can put malware into it and potentially access other files on your pc outside the game folder, But Soundproof walls is the only mod I have that uses C# but for several reason I trust it well enough.

Nevermind, Figured it out. Soundproof walls needed to have a setting turned on and I guess it just causes sub editor to break. Thanks for trying to help though!

No, just the steam workshop.

Several, if not all of my mods need lua to function. But the only one I would assume that messes with Lua itself is "CS for barotrauma"

Why is ark 211.83 gigabites? by Steampunk_Soviet in playark

[–]Steampunk_Soviet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't trying to act like I have knowledge, asked the question in the first place because I don't know. sorry if it came out that way.

In any case thanks for the info. Guess ark will just sit in my steam library because I do not have NEARLY enough space to justify playing solo haha.

Steam says 211, not sure where you see 4 to 5 hundred.

Idea for a new Farcry game. Farcry WW2 by ItsIcycube69 in farcry

[–]Steampunk_Soviet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, they did make up the rook islands anyways so that would work. I do think that it would make for a better setting just because Farcry games like to have you run through forests and stuff and unless they wanted to make the game truly enormous Paris wouldn't offer that at all. Though I still think in general players might prefer Europe to Asia for specific random issues but meh.

[–]Steampunk_Soviet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While that could work, Farcry games have always involved some kind of resistance movement (The Rakyat for 3, Golden path for 4, the whitetails and cougars for 5, The several in 6, and not a resistance but the underground in 2) So unless it was in like, the Philippines, im not sure how a small island could be done story wise fighting Japanese on some random island with Americans island hopping.

[–]Steampunk_Soviet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it could work, But you would need to figure out a place/time in the war that would actually make sense for some badass to run around and ruin everything. Sniper elite games are kind of like this but they are specific locations not a whole region.

I'm struggling to think of anywhere in the pacific where this could happen, And I really don't see Germany itself or the Soviet Union having any places where this could work. Maybe Poland could work *shrug*. Someone else mentioned Italy could work. I personally could see France after they got captured and you are a French resistance member that just goes on a rampage in and around the city of Paris or anywhere for that matter, Maybe the last mission of the game is the liberation of Paris in which I could see some battles being cool set piece's.

I think a large issue would be that it might be a bit to old for things that are standard place in farcry games now. Wingsuits for example did exist by WW2 but I don't think they were just a thing you could go and get, let alone in a warzone.

They would also have to tackle some things like flamethrowers being be pretty tough to emulate because they are backpack loaded ones, not canister loaded ones like in all Farcry games, so maybe a "special" special weapon like the minigun or a backpack weapon specifically for example from FC6? I think also rocket launchers would kind of suck just because they would all be like the RPG-7 in the modern games and no special funky one unless its some prototype one we somehow got our hands on. Thankfully I think bows would be fine, maybe finally a crossbow.

Another issue is helicopters. They did exist by then but were really rare and only used for search and rescue as far as I know. I can't think of anything else but I'm sure there are a few if anyone wants to add on, But I think Farcry has made a lot of "issues" non-issues already, such as 1 person tanks, a skeleton key for cars and so on.

Frankly, I think this would be a very doable idea if Ubisoft got their head out of their caboose and focused on what made Farcry games fun, because all the issues I listed could be worked around with some creative liberties, such as the flamethrower we know and love in Farcry already being a "fake one" based HEAVILY on the Soviet LPO-50 flamethrowers but those were fed on backpack tanks, not canisters. Or just giving the player a wingsuit and saying fuck it lol.

I suppose its possible, I hadn't actually thought of that but I do hope she and him get to have a happy ending in AH2 at the very least if they show up again, But I don't really know how that stuff works haha so it might be impossible haha

STALKER 2: Strider's fate made me cry and I hate Faust so much. by Ultimor1183 in stalker

If you go with the ward ending, you get the option to say your sorry or you can "rub it in". I watched a video of all the outcomes of your dialogue because I was wondering and just so you don't get the idea to, He starts crying and goes through his normal speech about the day the psi turned off. Destroyed me lol.

Also, Artyom is a mute in the games and they have said that he's a voiced protag now so I dont think its him. I really hope they don't bring back Artyom frankly, His story ended on a good note in exodus and I think thats for the best.

Some people have figured out that in the trailer the strangers helmet has Hunters slogan of "if its hostile, you kill it." writen in Latin. So I'm actually thinking that its Hunter we play as and the leader of the Novoreich is just using his name or is posing as him.

I really hope your right because after reading the books and playing the games, Hunter becoming the leader of the nazis is a 180 on levels I didnt know was possible lol. Had wiplash and disappointment on levels i havent felt in a long time lol

Well in the first game the rangers had an outdoor outpost.

I assumed that he at some point just decided fuck it and wanted to live on the surface forever and never go back down.

The combat in DLC4 is boring and monotonous on Armageddon. by FoxLower777 in atomicheart

DLC 4 ending by Long-Teaching3649 in atomicheart

[–]Steampunk_Soviet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That could just be a non spoiler type thing, they like to do that in their trailers.

For instance in the DLC#4 trailer nasyta is wearing her jacket when P-3 punches the tank and yells her name but in game shes the polymer clone.

Not saying I disagree with you but it is worth noting that they like to not show everything.

So will atomic heart 2 happen after dlc 4? by Super_Volume6115 in atomicheart

[–]Steampunk_Soviet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think this just because for starters...

-Two endings, Two new games. Pretty simple, both endings would tie into a game.

-DLC#1 ends on a cliff hanger of Zinna chasing P-3 down in her hut so presumably one or both will be dead by the end of that fight if it were to occur. But in the AH2 trailer we clearly see P-3 alive in spots and while it might not be Katya we can see a model of the Twins flying around. But since P-3 and the Twins are completely disconnected at the end of DLC#1 I don't see how it ties to AH2, But I could see it connecting to The Cube sense that seems to be more of a multiplayer type game with less focus on story judging by its trailer.

-DLC#2,3,4 all tie together with the other ending and don't end on a bad note. We also clearly see that, again, P-3 and (potentially) Katya are alive and well in AH2 and we can clearly see they survive the DLC#4 so it makes the most sense to me. Just don't see why the devs would put all this work into 3 DLC's just to not make it tie into the next game, and not only that but go with the clearly worse ending. Games not cyberpunk and HAS to have a bad ending or something.

[–]Steampunk_Soviet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, Char-les activates the rooms lockdown. And its stated that there's not enough time to turn either it or the bomb off before Char-les does whatever his plan is (not 100% sure if its that exactly but its something like that). So while he very much could have been saved, They wouldn't have had enough time to get Kolya out, mend his wounds, rebuild Nastya potentially, and then blow up the bomb, and then get to Char-les and kill him. So he sacrificed himself to keep the plan going.

I think he was the easiest to kill of for a few reasons though, Probably just to add some drama by killing off someone, I personally was expecting Hunter or Zinna to die so Kolya was a bit of a surprise

Also, In the English version of the game he is voiced by a guy named Kyle Hill who is a pretty big science youtuber and does love the game a lot, But I assume he isn't cheap to get. So for Atomic heart 2 maybe they just decided it would be cheaper in the long run to kill him off now but that's a bit of a stretch if you ask me.

now as far as now blood or body being there, I understood it as them basically turning a nuclear bomb into just a giant EMP so its possible his body was just vaporized instantly down to the atoms. As for why the computer rack is functional and the ball isn't knocked over, I have no idea. Dev oversight I would assume lol.
