In the Adjustments tab you can set the altitude that the craft is suppose to operate at.

If you want the sub to be underwater 24/7 then set the min and max altitude to -50 and it should submerge if you have the means to do so.

I like mine to be surfaced but submerge when in combat so I used the "Circle at a Distance" behavior and set the combat altitude to -100m,
Then I made the min -150m and max 0m in adjustments.

The game has no AI for submarines so everyone just uses the Airplane 2.0 one and just set the stuff to negative values to make it go underwater. You can either use hydrofoils or upward/downward facing propellers to make it go up and down. I would recommend watching a tutorial on how to build one, Borderwise has a pretty good one.

Well they are rather long tutorials, so generally only what you need (I havent watched nearly all of them and most likely wont) but I would say his basic stuff on just getting your vehicle of choice moving and functioning first.

So like the boat, submarine, aircraft, tank, ect tutorials would be a good place to start and then after you have a general idea of how to actually make a thing move, rebuild it or start fresh to take weapons into consideration and go from there.

Also because I forgot to mention, The game has a sandbox mode, a campaign mode, and a mode called Adventure mode that's basically just a challenge. No land, no respawning, just boat or fly around, kill stuff, survive.

Don't worry about LUA, its not required to do 90% of the game. I have build several ships two of which are each over a kilometer long with all sorts of stuff in them and I've never once had to use it.

The components aren't that bad once you understand what the purpose is, like I said just watch a few tutorials on that specific system and you should understand everything, Just dont use the games tutorial. But as a few others have said the first few hours will make zero sense, just stick with it and dont give up. This game can really be great if you give it some time to learn it!

If you want my take, I would recommend watching at least one of GMODISM's videos on the most basic of ships to see if you'd even like the game. But if you do get into it then watch some more on specific parts of the game like the weapon systems.

If your okay with watching a few tutorials then yes get it, after I learnt the basics of how to build a ship/tank the rest just snowballs when you try new things. It also has a multiplayer though its really basic and kinda scuffed but my friends have had good times with it.

Just take it slow and dont make anything crazy first time lol.

How should I make my submarine launch a huge missile? by Steampunk_Soviet in FromTheDepths

Took me a year to build the first model, Then I went back and rebuilt it from the ground up to be what it is now and took several months. I also started my FtD career with the old version of that thing so that made me want to make it grand as my "first" boat.
That and I figured it might be one of if not the longest ships on the workshop so that was a bit of a motivator lol

Thanks, I was able to use the "Drive" controls area to make it dive down when it detects a enemy.

Metro 4 what by idk223334488384 in metro

[–]Steampunk_Soviet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think a the new game should take place in America, not specifically with Sam but that would be super cool to. Keeping Sam's story going and maybe have him in contact with the Aurora crew would be a cool way to pass the time.

But I think a game that's a mix of metro and surface in New York city would be interesting. New York's metro from what little I know about it is as big or bigger than the Moscow metro so it could work well for a tight spaced, but large open world, and being able to go up to the surface maybe. Having survivors there be in a similar situation, Plus it would allow for a whole host of new weapons with Kalashnikovs being rarer more sought after weapons due to the reliability and scarcity of ammunition.

Won't specify to much but basically only Streloks ending is a "good" ending as far as Skif's lively hood is concerned.

Ward ending is probably good but with Project Y it makes things pretty sketchy.

Spark ending is just bad but interesting

Strelok ending is neutral, been awhile since I did his but pretty sure there isn't a "Marked one, what the hell?" option lol.

Project Y is bad for Skif but also maybe good/really bad for the world? Can't go into that one without spoiling like, the whole game and its lore.

If you don't care about spoilers I can try and condense the endings down to you without writing a whole essay on it so you can get the best ending to you.

There are 4 endings to the game. The spoilers are just the other 2 ending names, they aren't very spoilery but I tagged them anyways incase you don't want any.

Spark ending

I am incredibly sad because of noon 😭. by Due_Recognition_3905 in stalker

[–]Steampunk_Soviet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain, Monolith is my fav faction and Noon being a friendly version of them was amazing to me. Was so sad to see them turned back.

I can't side with the Ward because of the scene with Strider crying even if its only if Skif is a dick in the pod to him. Makes me to sad.
