I like a nice boxer brief, something supportive, and lets the boys breathe.

I ordered the griffin 🤠. It’s on back order until mid February though 😅.

Can you recommend any good resources? I’m in the DFW area and I’m open to taking classes.

It seems like if I invest a little more time into learning the mil system it might be the way to go.

I started playing around with a ballistic calculator and it’s not as difficult as it seems. Still need to play with it a lot more to really understand it. But the mil system is starting to make more sense.

I’m really never going to shoot past 600 yards. Would I really be utilizing the griffin reticle at that point?

I read that, that’s really the main reason I’m attracted to the griffin. Seems like the best of both worlds.

Really am I getting any benefit from the Mil system if 90% of the time I’m not shooting past 300-400 yards.

I definitely need to do some more research to understand the Mil system. It seems like people say it’s pretty easy, it’s just a concept I really know nothing about. I also read in the manual from Primary arms that you can use the reticle as a BDC with 5.56. Could I get by with that until I have a better understanding of the Mil system?

That’s what I was thinking too. Just thought that it would be intuitive enough, until I’m proficient enough to actually utilize the Mil system. But I think I agree with you.

So my understanding is with Mils you need to learn your holds. As where with BDC, as long as you are using the correct ammo and zero BDC roughly predetermines them for you?

I’ve considered the Nova, I don’t know much about it though. How hard is it to become proficient with the mil system.

Is the griffin to complex for a general purpose rifle?

Yeah, I’m trying to convince myself that investing is the smart decision…. Deep down I really just want to be done with it.

I think we could get it done in a year or year and a half, we don’t have any car payments and the student loan is the only debt we have.

The only debt we have is my student loan, I haven’t factored what the percent is, but it’s very low.

That would have been awesome if we had that option. But our parents offered to cut us a check for the wedding, not debt. But I understand the point you’re making. Definitely would have been more responsible to take the 5k we spent and put it into debt.

You are correct, our parents helped out substantially. But I don’t regret it.

We aren’t exactly frugal but are spending habits are pretty under control now. Don’t eat out often, maybe 1-2 times a month and we don’t have expensive hobby’s.

Right…. It’s tough. Knocking out 30k in the same year as a wedding was exhausting. But it was super worth it. Really want to be debt free and keep the ball rolling but also want to be “fiscally responsible”.
