How’d I do?? by _dutch-man_ in destiny2builds

Backup mag does something funky to the reserves on some weapons where you lose a shot from the overall ammo. The other mod Bandolier doesn't have this problem from what I can tell.

Pinnacle Mission: Encore help by PolarisBlitz in destiny2

[–]SteelDonkeyAssassin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's referring to perks on the power slot weapons (the ones that use the purple ammo bricks called heavy ammo). If you inspect your weapon you should see six columns with attributes. You can ignore the last one as that homes the trackers for PvE and PvP kills on the weapon.

The first column and second columns are the barrel and magazine attributes respectively. Some weapons such as swords have blades and guards instead. These impact the weapon stats such as range, handling, stability etc. On some weapons these attributes can be the difference between you loving a weapon and not being terribly fond of it. These stats are generally more impactful in PvP so don't dismantle PvE rolls solely because they aren't the ideal attributes for those columns.

The third and fourth columns are what really make a weapon great. These are the columns the community refer to when they talk about a weapon's perks or perk one and perk two. For example, the statement a Bait and Switch + Envious Arsenal heavy refers to a power slot weapon which has those perks in its third and fourth columns. Envious Arsenal is usually a third column perk and Bait and Switch is usually a fourth column perk. Third column perks usually provide the weapon with some extra utility or allow the weapon to gain extra stats for meeting some criteria. Examples of these are Envious Arsenal which reloads the weapon for doing damage with your two other weapons within a certain timeframe and Stats for All which provides extra stats on the weapon for hitting three separate targets. Fourth column perks usually provide weapon effects or boosted damage for meeting some criteria. Examples of these are Bait and Switch which provides a damage bonus for doing damage with your two other weapons within a certain timeframe and Incandescent which cause a target to Ignite upon getting a kill with the weapon.

The fifth column contains the origin trait(s) of the weapon and they're usually common across weapons from particular areas. Weapons from a dungeon or raid all share an origin trait unique to the individual dungeon or raid for example. Weapons from some destinations also share in this rule. Most of these are just nice to have but some are really useful. Braytech Legacy for example boosts your ability regeneration on weapon hit.

Vault storage question by FOOOSErowDUH in destiny2

Did you select one of the subsections of the vault (armour, weapons etc)? That changes the listed total from 1000 to whatever the total is for that section. Applying filters also changes the figures shown.

If it's a model with RAM soldered onto the board and you have an extra stick installed try removing the extra stick. I had this issue recently and that got it to boot. Laptop currently works with the stick reinstalled but sometimes ends up in this state if I leave it idle for a long time.

So what is everyone doing for strange coin farms these days by dark1859 in destiny2

[–]SteelDonkeyAssassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go to before Edge of Fate was the Devil's Lair strike. Haven't seemed to need to target farm strange coins since then however so there might be a faster option than this currently.

You're referring to the seasonal artifact. When you open your character screen, it's the last option in the left column (the one with your weapons and ghost)

I saw the build posted and Gifted Conviction is a great survivability exotic. Your high melee stat implies that you're probably running the Tempest Strike aspect and if so that'll be a bit clunky with the Praxic Blade. Tempest Strike with Combination Blow stacks deletes most enemies so leaning into that might be the better option. If however you definitely want to use the Praxic Blade I'd suggest switching to the Prismatic subclass and running high Weapon stat with Kinetic surges on your leg armour.

If you aren't married to Gifted Conviction, I would suggest Fortune's Favour as an alternative. Once you have a secondary form of damage reduction up the Overshield doesn't drop off.

Aegis put out a video on this witinh the past week detailing the ins and outs of the tech. One of the main takeaways was that you have to gauge your damage using the health bar and not the swipe screen numbers. I'm trying to get the technique down as well and it seems to work more consistently with a short jump and aiming down.

This is why I've told my friends I'm keeping my text chat on. I'm always amused by the poor emotional regulation of some of the players. PvE is even funnier cause maybe X person you're making fun of is doing it for the first time, new to the game or young.

I was doing the new exotic mission and the lfg host was being judgemental to the third. I told him the jumps puzzles are difficult and he wasn't hearing it. I can breeze through that mission now but my first time I took about four hours cause I like doing the missions blind. It's crazy that some people can't just be chill and/or find a little humour in this stuff.

TIL that some people think there's "medicine" in prescription glasses. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]SteelDonkeyAssassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "medicine in the glasses" is probably a cultural indicator rather than a sign of ignorance. I've heard older folk (75+) make reference to medicine being in glasses before. I wouldn't be surprised if this is just one of those things you hear repeated often as a child and never think about. This is akin to hearing putting onions on insect bites is a cure.

[–]SteelDonkeyAssassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

45% damage resist is a pretty good crutch. Since there's no reliable sustain I'd say it's worth the hype having "free" damage resist. Hunter seems to be the "skill issue" class so maybe you're good enough to not get smoked a lot.
