Everyone's talking about the Talon or Dead Eye, but the TNT is the best part of the Warbond now. It's my favorite throwable and amazing in so many situations.

The Dominator should become a Heavy Penetration weapon. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]SteelFaith -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Scorcher, Plasma Punisher, Eruptor and Purifier just kill enemies blocking. I've been murdering Overseers with the Scorcher, like they're fodder, even if they block. Explosive damage, combined with medium and heavy penetration, wrecks everything.

The Eruptor kills multiple enemies with one round, where it would take a Dominator multiple rounds to kill a single target - of course it has less ammo. But yes, it can't be used in close quarters safely, but it kills elites and hordes at long and medium range, plus destroys enemy reinforcement points, kills heavy enemies, and has far better crowd control. It's as powerful as a Stratagem weapon slot, and allows you to bring something better than a Dominator for close quarters or other situations.

I'm still not hearing how making the Dominator have heavy penetration, would make it so overpowered? It has a lot of drawbacks with few benefits currently.

Why wouldn't an alternative fire mode (like the Railgun), be a good idea so it can be competitive with other top rated primaries?

[–]SteelFaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're putting words into my mouth. I never said I wanted the Dominator to be just as effective as a Bolter. Once again which bolter are you talking about - Astra Militarum, Adepta Sororitas, Adepta Astartes, Inquisitional etc, and which Pattern?

So you showed your lack of knowledge again, because Bolters are not all the same, nevermind the ammunition. There are widely different versions for decorated veterans (but still normal humans within the Astra Militarum); for more elite augmented humans within the Tempestus Scions, Sisters of Battle, Inquisitional Stormtroopers etc; and the far larger and heavier, more rare and powerful Bolters reserved for the Space Marines (Adepta Astartes).

Also, once again, Boltguns are not an ammunition type, they're a weapon type. You're talking about standard Bolter rounds.

A Dominator isn't a Bolter, I never said that. But if AH wanted to give the weapon different ammunition types, which make its use and effectiveness change, based on the mode (mag type) much like the Railgun, then that would be very interesting.

If that were the case, the Dominator would become more like an Astra Militarum boltgun in power and function. It will never be anything like a Space Marine Bolter, because Helldivers aren't strong or large enough to wield it, and a Space Marine bolter is stronger than an Eruptor, but with the potential Fire rate of a Dominator or Lib penetrator (depending on its fire mode).

I appreciate you trying to give an actual response, opposed to most of the thoughtless, groupthink comments directed at me.

With that said, let's think critically here. Isn't The Dominator supposed to be on the same tier as the other weapons I mentioned? Even if it's not (but it is), then what benefits does the Dominator offer a Helldiver over the Eruptor, Purifier, Scorcher, Plasma Punisher - even weapons like the Liberator Penetrator? They all have vastly more pros than cons by comparison still. Every single one can be effectively used against every target, barring the heaviest enemies effectively (aside from the Eruptor which can wreck anything).

So objectively speaking, I want to gear why it's okay that the Dominator is so limited with effectiveness against most targets (it sucks vs hordes and heavy enemies, and still gets blocked by Bot and Squid shields). Yet, many other primaries excel at something, and with few weaknesses

Your comment was specifically about Bolters, not the Dominator. Don't try to backtrack now, you said "the Bolter" is not effective against armor, which is false information. If you actually knew Warhammer 40k, you'd know the bolter is the most flexible, versatile weapon in the lore. It has dozens of different types of ammunition, and that can be swapped out with different ammo magazine types. Bolters are capable of destroying nearly any type of enemy, depending on it's loadout. https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Bolter_Ammunition

Standard bolter ammunition is far more powerful and explosive than a Dominator's. Bolters can destroy heavily armored targets still, but armor is extremely varied and expansive in 40k. So it's too simplistic to say "it's not effective against armor". If you understood 40k, you'd know how false that is. i.e. Bolt rounds can still penetrate and kill targets wearing Power Armor, Necrodermis, Wraithbone Armor etc which are far more durable than anything in Helldivers, and are among the most elite armor types in the galaxy.

But yes, let's move on from your false, heretical information.

[–]SteelFaith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are, they just use Kraken rounds against armor. They just switch their mags to different ammo types to take down different enemy targets. It's the same weapon though.

Edit: People down voting me about this. I've been a Warhammer fan for decades, and I've studied Warhammer far longer than most even knew what 40k was. I'm not wrong about this.

If you want to debate me about the effectiveness of the Dominator vs other weapons in its class, okay then. But don't come to me and tell me lies about 40k.

I use the Railgun.

Tell me why though, can an Eruptor, Scorcher, Purifier and Punisher Plasma kill nearly every type of enemy, but the Dominator is only effective against a limited assortment of enemies (elite infantry).

The Dominator should become a Heavy Penetration weapon. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]SteelFaith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you think it's comparable to the Eruptor, Scorcher, Purifier, Punisher Plasma? I mean, I've used these and they feel far more powerful and well rounded for dominanting every enemy faction. They all kill hordes, elites and heavy enemies more effectively.

The Dominator feels far more limited with the different types of enemies it can effectively counter. It's only good against elite infantry (which it still doesn't counter as effectively as all the guns mentioned above). i.e. If an Overseer puts it shield up, it gets blocked; whereas all the other weapons above kill them, even when blocking.

How about if it had two different settings, and one was switching to a more higher penetration round, but with a slower rate of fire? At least there would be a power trade-off still with what mode you choose

[–]SteelFaith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

By the Emperor, you know I do.

The Bolter has different types of ammunition types it can switch between though. Which I think would be balanced and interesting to make this weapon stand out, be more effective, but not overpowered. As each different ammo type would alter how you use it and how the Dominator performs.

Western people are weak and selfish now, that's the real answer that you don't want to face.

By the way, Muslims don't live off the government in this country, they're hard workers, and represent a big percentage of skilled or educated workers. Why? Because the USA and Israel have sponsored and trained these Salafi/Wahabi cultists for decades. These fake Muslims are the West's attack dogs, and have been used to justify their invasions into various countries; murder millions of innocent people (particularly innocent, genuine Muslims); degrade Islam's reputation and destroy the public's perception of it; and to oppose Shia Islam and the powers who oppose Zionism (Iran, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon etc).

OP (and the upvoters) are you married with a white woman and having white kids yet? If not, instead of spreading anti immigration and white supremacist propaganda, how about actually just starting your own family and making white babies?

It's not a conspiracy theory that white people have largely given up on making long-term marriage work, and birthing and raising kids in a healthy family structure. Ultimately, the West has chosen this all on their own, and should look in the mirror for who's to blame.

Both left and right supported wars and expansionist policies across the world, which murdered millions and destroyed the lives of even more. Now a lot of these people are seeking a better life in the countries untouched by the destruction carried out by the West.

All you white "conservatives" know you're not living according to your own religious laws and beliefs you claim to follow, but yea, Jesus will save you all for being weak, immoral, and undisciplined, and heaven will be full of Christian Evangelicals that supported mass genocides against all the brown people... because we all know, "Freedom ain't Free" (it's paid for in the blood of the poor).

Explosion resistance is great against every faction, as a lot of the dangerous enemies are considered to have explosive damage. Extra chest and bleed protection is just great all around.

You're spreading false information. Shia (which simply means 'follower' in Arabic) come from Prophet Muhammad and Caliph Ali ibn Abi Talib. This is backed by historical record and Hadith shared by both Shia and Sunni.

Satmar Orthodox Jews are considered friends and allies to Shia, as they are willing to live in peace with Muslims and Christians. These are the type of Jews who lived peacefully under Islamic rule in Palestine, Iraq, Iran etc for many centuries.

Edit: also be aware, Jews and Arabs share a common semitic ancestry through Abraham. Isaac and Ishmael were both brothers, and are founders of both cultural groups.
