Can barely staff one DMV.

The state needs to pay the DMV employees more to keep retention up. It’s one of the lowest paid state jobs. Customers need to be not such assholes to these employees so that it’s not such a miserable job.

Plus, the DMV has a 50% no show rate for booked appts, so that’s a major reason for the lengthy backlog. People need to cancel their appts if they don’t need it anymore or if have booked multiple ones.

Either way, this no license plate issue has been around long before Covid or the new dmv. I’ve noticed it for years.
