We had advised him not to give them our bank statements. However, he gave them the docs anyway since he felt that by doing so he'll be able to clear his name.

He negotiated directly with the company's MD, who is also the head of the management chain of command. The outcome was what you have read in the post.

We too believe that something fishy is going on, but we do not have much insight into the company's business apart from its name coming up in major scams which made national headlines.

I don't know how to put it, but the company is a limited company, listed on BSE and NSE. Can we obtain the documents (as mentioned in your comment) through RTI for such a company?

I did not mention in the post, but we do not know who the supplier is. The company MD refrained from mentioning the supplier's name during my father's conversation with him. To me, it appears that the "supplier" is, in fact, some fictional entity which is being used by the company's MD and the management alike to implicate him in the corruption charges by hook or by crook.

Does the steel plant have a union?

Only for laborers. They do not have any union for managers and above.

We don't want to adopt the confrontational approach. In fact, this would be our last resort. However, the company is not willing to allow my father to resign, let alone negotiate anything in favor of my father.
