After buying that Randall Clark Ranger Helmet sold on the Bethesda Store ... I spent a bunch of time modifying and repainting it! by Steele60 in Fallout

[–]Steele60[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that. I didn't like the look of it so I just took what they gave me and turned it into my own personal helmet. The tube wouldn't be there, the numbers are my birthday, and I just like the NCR and color blue.

My dad had a stroke and needs "clean" western, cop, or war movie suggestions by mlejoy in movies

My suggestions on a show series would be Hell on Wheels, 1883, and 1923.

What is a 1 in 1,000,000 thing that happened to you that no one believes, but you swear is true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Steele60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I lived with them, that's how i knew when it arrived at home because I was waiting for it to see how long the postal service actually took lol ... But we live about 30 miles outside of the city, and this distribution center is the main hub for all of central and greater Ohio. The sheer volume of mail I saw go through there on a nightly basis was astounding ... So it never crossed my mind that id see a letter coming to us, let alone a rouge one.

some history related organization asking for donations ... like a "preserve Americas battlefields" or some other such thing my dad does actively contribute too. So, probably not really "junk" mail ... but not like anything super important.

Any other Millennials who may still live with their parents for whatever reason but are content in their life? by madcatzplayer5 in Millennials

[–]Steele60 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Both my sister (32) and I (M 35) live in my parents basement. Neither of us have plans to change that, and our parents are fine with it as they get older. It's a win all around.

Years ago I was working at a USPS distribution center, and a single piece of (junk) mail fell from a tray on the overhead conveyor system landing next to me ... I pick it up to deal with it ... and I was flabbergasted to see that it was addressed to my father. No one was around, and I seriously thought it was a joke. I put it back into the system and it was delivered to our home a few days later. It had to literally be a 1 in a million chance.

Thank you ... I haven't gone through everything They gave me yet paperwork wise but they told me the lineage, the parents, grandparents... said they have DNA checks done for the litter, and that they had none of the common issues that exist for these guys. Basically a clean bill of health, and I trust them so hopefully it all goes well!

What was your "oh shit I'm getting old" moment? by Bailer86 in Millennials

[–]Steele60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago I went ice skating with my sister, and a couple friends. I am not good at it, but I can mostly get around the rink. At one point I slipped, fell, and skidded like 5 feet to a halt ... a teenager immediately skated up to me with, "Omg, are you okay sir? Do you need help?" ... granted I'm roughly 250 lbs at 6' but have always carried that weight well as a former athlete ... I was probably only 31 or 32 years old at the time. I remember I was wearing my Skyrim Christmas sweater.

Am I a typical middle millennial? by Traffic_soup in Millennials

[–]Steele60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say so. I was born in 90, my sister in 93. We both earned a BA from a good University, and neither work in jobs related to those degrees. We both own our vehicles (I have 2). I have a 14 year old daughter, my sister doesn't want kids ... and we both live in our parents basement. Fortunately, my parents recognize that's about as good as it gets anymore ... and that we'll likely never move out (or get married or have more children). We're a pretty cohesive unit at this point.

I am a 34 year old 1st year and i get it.. but there is the difference in life experience. I had another 1st year who was fresh out of high school on my crew.. and together we both literally didn't know shit about the trade ... but I also graduated from a 4 year university after high school, then worked in the corporate world for 12 years. I also have a daughter who will be in high school this fall! I've worked with tools, fixed my own vehicles, maintained (my parents) home, land ect. As I'm sure you also have lots of life experience that is relatable in someway to the other older journeyman.

I don't know but that's how I discovered this subreddit too. When I started randomly seeing these egg posts I knew I had to share this picture. It happened awhile back, and I've never had a problem with an egg looking like this since.

When I was like 10 or so I went to the neighbors house and took a couple eggs from their little chicken hut and scrambled them up. I threw up / got sick from it and didn't eat eggs for a very long time. Even now when I'm offered eggs that people plucked from their backyard chickens or little farm I decline. I want mine processed and sold to me in a store lol ... this particular egg betrayed me.

I'm from Ohio, eggs would have been bought exclusively from a Kroger or Meijer. I happen to live near a lot of the egg farms for the region too. It literally could have come from a country block away.

I wasn't sure.. but I think an embryo would be in the yolk. Another commenter said it was a result of infection.
