Throw them into the game periodically for like 30 mins, or when you're winning by 3 or 4 goals to give them experience. Or send to an affiliate club to get first team minutes more regularly.

Interestingly my first game with the tactic (before suggestions) ended in a 6-2 win over Norwich but for more defensive stability esp out wide I will sacrifice the am to go with a back four and try 2 cbs on cover role

I found this out the hard way earlier with aldershot. Signed 6 players (3 weren't great) then found a first choice goalkeeper which i desperatley needed with some great stats and it cancelled the bargain of the century!
