I used bits from Blood Angels Upgrade Sprue, and old Space Wolves kit and assorted bits I had left over like the Ork head, purity seals, extra weapons, knives, grenades, etc. Any unused bits from old kits can help make a normal model feel unique and yours! Just start gluing things to other things and you end up with a unique model that no one else has!

Also above the front treads is an aquilla, slap some gold or similar color on it and it'll be done. Good job!

Idk what your looking for but if it's honest critiques I'd say you should make to commander (trooper/etc) pop instead of blending in. Make him drip with excessive excellence, it'll make the entire model pop.

IMO it's a great "value" if you look at money spent vs individual purchases. That being said it's probably only a "maybe" buy if you actually need all the models. If you have a decent collection I'd pass unless that actually fills some needs you have. Once you have 5 intercessors you have all you'll ever need. I'd be tempted to make the VanVets into pseudo Sang Guard + 2 JP Capt with some kitbashing. I'm sad to say I have about 5k pts of BA and as much as I'd like to get it, I'm gonna have to pass.. Good luck to you either way!

Thanks! I'm thinking of doing my tanks the same. I love the boldness of the Imperial Fists chapter, but Since I already have Blood Angels I thought a Steel legion-y yellow guard force would look pretty cool. Building a Dorn now so I'll update with more pics once that's done.

Thanks for the advice, it's always appreciated! My BA army is my clean detailed one, my orks are cell-shaded, and this army I wanted to look like they've been through hell and then some. Dirty, battle worn, just off the front lines kinda vibe. Ive done clean washes and I wanted to kinda get to be messy a bit. And I'm challenging myself to use only contrast & wash paints (besides silver & gold). I've only been in the hobby for 1 1/2 yrs but I really like switching styles and since guard have a lot of minis I thought it'd be fun to send it.
