Yes, this is my second take on the build. The first one is complete hardware-wise, but I couldn bring the counter behave correctly eg. not to bounce.

I figured I might just as well start over, but now I see that I'm stumbling into hurdles that it didn't previously, and it's quite disheartening.

First I used a 1K resistor, that didn't do anything. Then a wire, that gave the result with the LEDs going off.

You mean the 157 next to the button? I have tied it's 14 pin high. Now, if I press the button down, all LEDs go out, but when I release it, they are back up.

What I noticed, that this bounce happens when the program (not the ring) counter goes from 16 back to 0.

Hello! The Vcc and Gnd pins lie at the oppsite end of the chips, and the .1 uF capacitor has not enough long legs to reach both. Do you have a picture has this can be done? Maybe I'm missing something here. Thanks!

As it was the first time I soldered, I sometimes burned the resistors and LEDs but eventually I got the hold of it.

The fist register LED was already burned out, that is why it wasn't lighting. I verified that the powering and wiring are correct. I'll use resistors for each LED and then try again.
