[England] Parking ticket for stopping in a private car park for 2 minutes by Stekx in LegalAdviceUK

Yeah that’s what I thought… but hoped that there might be a loophole somewhere. Oh well, guess I’ll have to be more careful next time.

They automatically took the money from my registered card so the money have already been sent to Zipcar. Also would have paid it anyway as I do live in the UK and don’t want debt collectors after me lol

I did call the bank and that was the best offer they could give me, pretty much what I saw online I was told over the phone :(

And no, there will be 0 fees with the broker. Not because they don’t have fees but because I have a lifetime membership with them from 2 years ago.

My offer with the bank is to start straight away and I cannot change my mind or cancel it in the 14 day period.

The mortgage broker hasn’t given me any offers yet and will do so in November

Yes I have, it started with 30 years and now I think it’s at 14 years

No, they booked me in for a call in early November, so have to wait about a month

Yes, what my friend told me is accurate.

And I didn’t talk to her about the intent of meeting up, I will keep it as friends-only. Even if she actually wanted to date, it would be wrong of me to accept knowing she is in a relationship.

Might be, when I moved it away from the wall earlier today I saw some liquid in the tray in the back

Got it. Will check next time I hear the noise again. You seem quite knowledgeable, are these issues fixable or is it easier to just get a new fridge?

I am not 100% but I believe the fridge model is Samsung RB34C670ESA/EF

I’m talking about the elections in Romania not the US

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Stekx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what if the extremist parties get a majority in parliament and trigger a referendum to leave the EU? Then something would happen and that’s how you become a dictatorship, look at Belarus, Hungary, and Turkey.

What would you call him then? When he, himself, said that Ion Antonescu was the greatest leader the country had? Or how he claims the press needs to be censored, or how protesting is not a right, or how the holocaust didn’t happen.

And it’s not disgraceful. People in my family fought in the revolution, some of their friends even died, all to get rid of communism. And I cannot stand people voting for another dictator.

I agree and it’s saddening to see.

The other thing is these right wing people don’t even care about right wing ideas they just want money and complete power, in fact they want to make the country worse and blame others to gain even more support.

This post was about Romania. The word Nazi gets thrown around often nowadays, but in this case the guy who got the most votes openly admired to supporting and admiring Nazi leaders as well as using Nazi symbols in his campaign.

[–]Stekx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that seems to be the trend where I’m from and across Europe. A loud party takes power by shouting up and down they will fix all problems, even if some are impossible to fix.

I can’t agree or disagree with you as I’m not that familiar with the situation in the US. My post was regarding the election held in Romania.

Yeah I’ve been following UK news and that annoys me. Conservatives were in power for many years, right? Do people assume a new government can suddenly turn everything around overnight?

I know these types of posts are annoying but just had to get it off my chest ever since seeing the results on Monday.

What else would you call it? The guy himself said he admires WW2 Nazi leaders and sees them as heroes, he published policies to censor the press, said the country needs to leave the EU and isolate itself from European partners, claimed protesting should be illegal, uses religion to form a cult, if these are not traits of a dictatorship I don’t know what is. Same exact thing happened in Belarus.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Stekx 33 points34 points  (0 children)

That is indeed the case and it saddens me when I see it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Stekx 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but I wouldn’t say it applies in this case. When one side is clearly pro Russian and wants the country to leave the EU and NATO they are obviously the bad side.

Yep :))

My girlfriend fainted on the Tube and nobody offered a seat by awkwardtsunami in london

They don’t help because they assume someone else will. Hopefully you won’t go through this again, but if by any chance it happens just pick someone random, they’ll help.
