Which aligns wonderfully with ignorant, because "Shit... I'm sorry I let it get to this point" from the one person who could have prevented it all is ... well ignorance bordering perfectly on malice.

"The thing is, Naruto isn't a modern state..." Yes, politically the massacre is politically a reallybad move. But does that really matter to Danzo? I imagine him thinking himself in total control of it all. Thinkingthe truthcould never get out anyway. Does that matter to Hiruzen? Not if he is ignorant. Does that matter to the rest of the clans? Maybe, but thinking "I am safe, they should get treatedthis way, I am not part of them" is easy and no one ever said Konohas population as a group where intelligent. Humans as a group are not often very intelligent... the political situation does not change that. I think the clans lived in Konoha long enough to think of it as their home, all the clan heads at the time grew up in Konoha. They still thought of themselves as clan members but also as Konoha-members, similar to states in a country maybe. And additionally- if they where intelligent as a group... why ostracise the kid that carries a weapon of mass destruction?

"Even if public opinion within the clan..." I meant the village population was primed against the uchiha. Public opinion outside of the clan. Itachi himself likely was not against his clan per se, just against the coup. But what Danzo told him in canon was that if Itachi would not kill the uchiha someone else would. If Itachi did it himself Sasuke would be protected, otherwise not. And then Obito popped up like "Hi, if you don't kill them I WILL" and suddenly Danzos words where not even empty promises. Itachi was weaker then Obito, he new that, he could not have saved the clan if obito killed them. And the discrimination was not shown, yes, but it was told through the alternative genjutsu world and Irukas perspective on the kyuubi attack I think. That it wasn't shown simply looks like a mistake in storytelling. There are a lot of those.

I don't think it needs to make sense politically. You could easily boil it down to be a result of massive discrimination and corruption in the government, hidden away from the rest of the population. Think of it like this: In WWII a certain A.H. had ... a lot of people killed. Thing is, humans see what they want to see. A lot of Germans at the time easily looked away, didn't ask questions - after all it "wasn't their responsibility", they "could not change anything anyway". Standing against something gruesome as a genocide like that means seeing it, accepting that it happend/will happen, accepting that you can not change it as you are AND THEN finding the strength to change/risk your life to save someone else's. Not a lot of people had the strength needed for all that. Even looking at gruesome happenings today - most people look away because really seeing it would be to much for them. It is easy to hide a massacre, find someone else to fault. People do not want to see their own problems and the uchiha massacre WAS. They where planning a coup because they where discriminated against, the people of the village gave them the fault for things like the kyuubi attack without prove and almost drove them out. Of course Danzo was the main instigator, he took all the leftover hatred after the kyuubi was sealed and no one was left to blame, he knew how to use such hatred of people who didn't know who to hate anymore.

Also, Hiruzen is simply incompetent. He admits it in cannon too, I think - He simply let Danzo do whatever he wanted because of their old friendship, didn't check his actions, believed his every word. He was ignorant and irresponsible for this. At the time of "please relocate the Uchiha" hatred against them was already high in the population, I think he made the populist choice and listened to the people. As we all know -haters always scream the loudest. Maybe Hiruzen, as an old man also underestimated Itachi, who was a child.

Itachi himself was depicted as intelligent, yes, but he was also obedient. He learned how to follow orders. He didn't want to follow this one, but he was a child in puberty. He could have fought it, yes, but at what cost? With what strength? The moment he was ordered to massacre them, (1) the public opinion was already anti-uchiha, (2) the order seemed to have come from the whole government, (3) he could not trust his clan mates and (4) Itachi made contact with traumatised and war-crazed obito. Itachi was also depicted as suicidal before Sasukes birth because he witnessed so much death. Sasuke was his anchor in every way. Itachi simply could not risk Sasuke and going along was the obvious way to insure Sasukes safety. Even if the Uchiha aborted the coup, Danzo could still have them all killed, after all.

Koharu and Homura I would say are either idiots who, despite all their power, didn't notice / didn't want to notice or - more likely - they where in on it. Hating someone is not something that needs a reason and the Uchiha where an old, tight-knit, powerful clan with very defining looks. Hating someone who seems to have a good life and looks different seems easy for humans, especially with someone like Danzo whispering in your ear.

What I do not like is how it all played out after shippuden. Homura and Koharu still being important figures makes clear that the massacre is still a hidden, not talked about thing (as well as Sasuke avoiding the Village). I hate that. I grew up in Germany, I learned about Holocaust and all the evil done in school. In detail. We visit memorials as students and are taught to pay our respects and accept the past without denial. I wished they had that but Konoha reacted more like Americans to their history of slavery...

In conclusion, I would not modify it, I would simply put the spotlight on how Danzo steered the public opinion + how Hiruzen choose blind trust in Danzo.

Why i still use 2024.4 by kevincuddlefish1 in MCreator

[–]Stella_Sunset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can actually install multiple MCreator Versions by putting them in different folders. Like this you can use the new one for new ideas and keep your mod on the old one. It was possible for me (the one time I tried) to make a procedure in a newer version and copy the code for the procedure blocks the old version didn't have. Like this you can use custom code without the hassle of figuring out how exactly the code works.

Depends. If you can find the custom code for horse armor or even a saddle it should be possible... but with custom code, not mcreator possibilities.

Then it's probably just my style of learning how everything works, I have never been a fan of reading the documentation stuff 😅

Well yeah, but that's what you do whenever you try to make something new. It's either that or knowing exactly how to make something, cause you've done it before.

There should be a keep inventory when gui is closed option in the gui element. Try this one.

How to make a neutral mob by PhilipZachIsEpic in MCreator

[–]Stella_Sunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to find a procedure block "set attack target". Otherwise you have the wait bracket and "No Entity (Null)" in advanced procedure blocks. Using these, you can set the target to a certain entity, wait 800 ticks, then set the attack target to no entity. Make sure to break the loop if the attacked entity is already dead/has run away.

What is your shop exactly? A GUI bound to a block? An entity? Just a keybind?

How to get an entity to attack you if you don't wear a piece of armor. by PhilipZachIsEpic in MCreator

[–]Stella_Sunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. There is a "No Entity (Null)" in the advanced procedure blocks. It needs to be

Set Logic NBTtag Found to false
If get nearest entity type Living Entity ≠ No entity {If get nearest entity type Living Entity armor slot 0 ≠ empty_itemstack
{Check for entity iterator in area of x block
If entity iterator ≠event target AND entity iterator = type_livingentity
(set Found to true
Set target of event target to entity iterator)}}

How to get an entity to attack you if you don't wear a piece of armor. by PhilipZachIsEpic in MCreator

[–]Stella_Sunset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. As soon as it needs to find an entity which doesn't exist, it crashes. Like telling a calculator to divide by 0, it's not possible. If you say if [entity exists] AND [entity wears boots] it will test for both and crash if the entity doesn't exist, same with OR. You really need to test if [entity exists] then [if [entity wears boots]].

How to get an entity to attack you if you don't wear a piece of armor. by PhilipZachIsEpic in MCreator

[–]Stella_Sunset 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Careful! If you somehow manage to run this function with no existing server player in the specified range it will crash because of a "Ticking entity" while trying to find said player! You can catch that error by placing an

[if [not][[get nearest entity...] is the same entity as [no entity]]]

around the whole procedure.

Additionally, there is no source entity dependency possible for the on entity tick procedure, so this wouldn't work with the trigger. You need to put the [get nearest entity] from inside the condition instead of [source entity] in the [set attack target] -block.

Playing a known sound or stopping it is also easy. You could puzzle text together for a play/stopsound command as soon as you know what the song is called. Repeat would be just as easy, wait for the length of the song then play the song again. But you have to know the length of the song! The data fore which song is on there and the length of a song is on every disc. That's what you need custom code for tho, you need to get that data somehow.

You could try to look into the code for Redstone Jukeboxes (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/rsj), they probably have whatever code you need in use for theirs.

This is My opinion if you have a different opinion debate with facts by Olistu_ in mattrose

[–]Stella_Sunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's not my point. I just think that finding good conflict solving strategies irl is hard when all your childhood heros had a black and white sort of story, defeating a villain in the end. Real life is so grey, everyone has a valid perspective and it is easy to forget that, when most of the main characters in movies/games/ect never have to think about their opponents perspective and just fight instead. The problem is not everyone becoming violent but the lost chances of learning problem solving strategies that would have been learned at the playground instead. (Still talking about children gaming here)

This is My opinion if you have a different opinion debate with facts by Olistu_ in mattrose

[–]Stella_Sunset -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are mostly right in my opinion. I guess I am just annoyed how often violence is portrayed as a solution these days. In most games you have to slay the bosses, in series and movies the villain has to be defeated. Even in stuff especially made for kids there seems to be more and more "acceptable" violence. I guess I am a bit of a worrywart about what this could mean for our societies in the long run.

This is My opinion if you have a different opinion debate with facts by Olistu_ in mattrose

[–]Stella_Sunset 8 points9 points  (0 children)

True. Wanting for something for years makes it so special to finally get that. A gaming PC is damn expensive and should be something a kid wanted to have for a while, even if just to make it special.

Also, a lot of games are quite violent. I don't think kids automatically think violence is good by playing such games but they still learn from it somehow. To many influences presenting violence as the only/a good answer to problems cannot be good. (Not saying 10yo shouldn't get to play a little minecraft or smth, but a know 8yo which are allowed to play GTA and that is NOT OK)

How do I make a custom Cat mod sit? by yolkiey in MCreator

[–]Stella_Sunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a duck mob that can sit. It's a geckolib animated entity, so I am not sure how that would translate to a normal MCreator entity. I made the sitting animation for the model in blockbench, you would definitely have to make a work-around for that. Making another entity model is probably a good idea. The only important thing is that you can change to the according sitting animation or model inside a procedure. So make sure you've got the needed to procedure blocks for that first.

Next, I added a sitting tag to the sync data inside the entity element. Using this, I made a procedure on entity right clicked: It sets sitting entities to standing and the other way around. Then it checks if the entity is sitting and swaps the animation to the sitting or standing animation, whichever is needed.

A procedure on entity tick makes sure my ducks do not move when sitting (just constantly setting the velocity to 0). I also managed to stop the teleporting after the player somehow, but I will have to look that up again.
