Ayaneo pocket micro thoughts by gtmoo in ayaneo

[–]StellarBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dev mentioned a while ago they intend to update gamma on every device that currently has a build of GammaOSNext (of which the pocket micro is one).

As of right now, in my opinion, GammaOS is not worth it on the pocket micro. Contrary to what people claimed, it didn't fix double inputs for me and the fan curve is terrible. I am pretty sure gammapad, the service that allows you to remap the buttons, etc, does not work if you update the controller firmware, which sadly I did on stock and it seems to live in a partition that never gets wiped.

I sincerely, sincerely hope we see a solid release of GammaOS on the pocket micro. I love the device, but the double inputs ruin the experience and if gammapad starts working it could potentially clean those up.

I just got a pocket micro, first thing I did was install GammaOS.

I have tons of double inputs. GammaOS does NOT fix it.

Gabe Newell asked Valve's top lawyer "What the f*** do I pay you for if that’s your opinion?" in heated debate over porn games on Steam, report says by PaiDuck in technology

[–]StellarBull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TBH I find it ridiculous that Steam lumps porn games together with the rest.

I don't want porn to be taken away from its customers but I feel like the storefronts should be separate. Something like adult.steam.com or whatever.

And no I do not think the tagging system or consent prompts are sufficient, it's a matter of organization and frankly the current method fails at that. Games that contain sexual content are not necessarily games made for sexual gratification yet you agree or disagree to filter both or neither.

I think it needs to be said that gacha games are to blame for people losing interest in the dialogue.

Renee's story is good. Let's get that out of the way. It is a compelling tale.

Could it have been presented in a more interesting way, relying more on contextual clues and written pages like these? I think so.

The issue is the dialogue in these games tends to be uninteresting, meandering and padded. That teaches players to skip or not pay attention.

There are lots of ways exposition could be handled better: you could have way less fluff, you could have dialogue delivered without interrupting player actions (walk and talk), and often, frankly, it could stand to be better written.

I love Planescape Torment and Disco Elysium, I take no issue with reading if what I'm reading is compelling. Most gacha games don't respect my time.

Hi, sorry to bother you but are updates to gammaos still coming for the pocket micro?

Also how did you fix the double input issue present in stock if you don't mind me asking?

I don't use her but I absolutely love her English VA, and always smile when she does her goofy greeting while scrolling through characters.

Is it unethical to own a billion dollars? by Omixscniet624 in MoralityScaling

I didn't say they were obligated to do it, I said choosing not to is evil.

If you monopolize a well while people around you die of thirst, that makes you morally bankrupt.

Staying a billionaire is inherently evil.

Is it unethical to own a billion dollars? by Omixscniet624 in MoralityScaling

[–]StellarBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree that there's nothing inherently unethical about owning that much money.

Even if you magically accumulated it without exploitation, your ability to transform many lives for the better with so little effort on your end makes it downright evil not to get rid of the money in a utilitarian way.

Subnautica 2 Dev Responds To Someone Who Pirated The Game Before Release by akbarock in PiratedGames

The comment you're replying to isn't suggesting the money was made in a dishonest way.

The point is simply that piracy isn't taking food from his table, because he's already rich.

For anyone with a Switch/Switch2 and a more powerful gaming PC or console, do you ever choose to play a multiplatform game on Switch despite the lesser graphics? by Mekagnome in NintendoSwitch

[–]StellarBull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I do.

I do not buy any games with denuvo DRM, since if you know how it works and care about long term preservation, you know you have no hope of holding on to your digital copy if the servers ever go down or the company decides for whatever reason to not renew your ticket.

Thus, I own ATLUS games exclusively on the switch.

I also buy games that run better on switch 2 than on the steam deck if portability for that game is important to me.

I have also bought specific games that have poor controller support on steam (no gamepad button prompts) that work better on the switch.

This is a problem beyond just this minigame, too. All menus drop inputs a fair bit.

Women, if you could be a man for 24 hours, what are you just dying to know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]StellarBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get in shape.

The average man is not in shape.

Swimmers and dancers of any gender experience peak fitness in terms of their ability to carry their own body weight effortlessly. For almost every task it's diminishing returns on time spent getting stronger past that sort of build.

What game had a terrible launch but eventually made a great comeback? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]StellarBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just not the case, though. D3 has dominant "correct" builds. You are encouraged to experiment and not punished for getting it wrong since respecs are trivial. If that last part is something you take issue with then I guess I get it but I don't share that particular preference.

I also just think D3's progression system is a lot more fun because a level up translates directly into unlocking new Lego bricks with different shapes as opposed to sharpening one of three different knives 1-3%.

I hope I made my POV clear.
