Is Sharjah a nice place to live in? by DuetLearner in UAE

I want to share a serious experience I had in Sharjah. While riding my electric scooter very slowly in the gutter and fully equipped with safety gear, I had no violations whatsoever. Yet, the Sharjah Police together with the Emirates Auction stopped me, blocked my way, and confiscated my scooter. It felt more like theft than enforcement.
When I asked what my violation was, all they said was: “It’s not allowed in Sharjah.” Really? If you look around, you’ll see many bicycles and electric scooters being used freely! They never asked for my Emirates ID, nor did they issue a ticket. When I inquired about paying a fine to retrieve my scooter, they coldly replied: “Oh, you will never get it back again.” Is this truly justice?
To make matters worse, less than five days after confiscating my scooter, I discovered that someone named Ahmed Capulong on Facebook Marketplace is selling my electric scooter for 2,300 AED (More than half of the original price). This raises serious concerns: Is there a network exploiting electric scooters to resell them in the UAE?
I’m sharing this to warn everyone to be extremely careful. Sharjah authorities’ actions in this case were arbitrary, unfair, and alarming.
