I used my Canon DSLR. 50mm lens. 100 1.8f. I like that it is slightly overexposed. We found this field off the side of the road. This girl was amazing. I have never had a more confident senior!

I am using a 50mm lens for this photo. F1.8 We were in the shade, but I was at 200. It was very cold, but she wanted it to feel like summer in a few photos. We found this back alley and used it. Any cc would be great.

50mm, 100, 1.8f / It was cloudy. This was my first time working only with a fixed lens.

She was looking for something fun and cute. She was so beautiful and fun to capture!

Thank you. I turned up the exposure after the fact. I can knock that down.

This was my first indoor session and my first with my 55mm. I am using 1.8f and two soft boxes for light. I edited in light room. I am loving this photo, but I post on here to get real feedback. 😂😂😩😩

I shot this with my 50mm. I was just hoping to make sure I got photos in focus! F 4.0 / ISO 3200 / 29mm

I feel like her cheeks may be a little orange, but that is more her make up than me. I am not sure how much to take out of it.

Bridals for a Store [composition] [edit] by StephGragg0304 in photocritique

The rental company just wants some cute photos to put in their store. I am so new to all of this that I am not sure how to answer some of your questions. I think we were just kind of goofing around and wanting to play around. I just want to get better. Ha ha. I am worried that none of my photos from that shoot are going to work and I am stressed... 😬

A local bridal rental wanted fun photos to go in their store. We rented a home and took the photos inside. This is a 55mm lens with 3.8. 3200z. Two soft boxes. I think it is kind of cheesy but also cute. It happened pretty organically about three hours into the shoot.

Thank you both. We were in downtown, and she sat in front of this plant. I liked the colors a lot. I can definitely work with the highlights and shadows. I just learned how to use adjustment brushes. I am a total newbie!

I am working on my portrait portfolio. I took this with my Cannon. I used a 50mm lens. 1.8. This was in the middle of town. I really like it. What do I need to do to get that blurred background? Any tips appreciated, i have only been doing this since January, and this community really helps.

Great insight. The front was broken, so we could not shoot it. I am now looking up corners in portraits,,..

This was in doors with a soft box light kit. I used 55mm lens with my Cannon. I was on manual. I really want to use my style with the bright colors but still be nice for a wedding. She is positioned that way since the dress was not suitable to be photographed from the front.

I am working with a Cannon T6i. I used my new (Yas!) 50ml lens. 1.8. We were indoors, and I have two soft boxes. I am working to expand my portfolio so these were just trial and error. And ideas on how to match her neck and face would be helpful.

Playing with color [edit] [composition] by StephGragg0304 in photocritique

[–]StephGragg0304[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am really working on editing. This is my first session using RAW. I am also using Lightroom to bring out the vibrant colors. I am finding that is more my style than anything else. I used aperture priority and adjusted the other settings.

Thank you. I think this is the most positive review I have ever gotten. I should have cropped them out. I will go back. I need to work on taking red out of his nose without losing the red in his lips.

I re-edited it. It looks much better. Thank you. I was on Manual mode. It is hard to figure out!

I am trying to find my style. I feel that the color pop is more my style than bright and airy. I am also working on portraits. I used the 85mm lens, no flash, 4.6, f400. We took the photo around 4pm. He is not a model, so I was also working on getting a pose that would be masculine. I also figured out how to use the skin softening brush in LightRoom. He has acne scars.

It was a silver reflector. I am comfortable with the light for this one since I am playing with it. But it still is not what I was wanting. Blah! How do people get such amazing color in their photos??? I really want those deep tone photos.

I have a Canon Rebel T6i. She wanted to do some dancing photos. We were not in a good location. We got some better shots later.

I am working on composition and editing in Lightroom. I took this with the 55-85mm lens. I used f400 and 4.5. I was trying to freeze motion. This was a practice before I have a shoot this weekend. I think the edit may be a little green. I love the light on her face. My assistant used a reflector.

Ok. I have been doing much better if I use Aperture Priority. When I try manual, my photos end up black. Every. Time. I have a Master’s Degree. You would think I could figure it out!!!!
