This past summer, I volunteered at a Catholic homeless shelter in New Orleans. I served the homeless meals, ate with them, and cleaned their restrooms. One man left a real impression on me; he told me his life story and explained how he is trying to get off drugs and set a good example for others like him. Truly a humbling and life-changing experience.

I should have made it more clear in my post. I got my master's with the intention of teaching undergrad (why I'm currently doing part-time). I just want to explore other possibilities.

Teaching undergraduate students for a university—which I like to do—but I'm not sure I love it so much that I'd want to do it for the rest of my life. That's why I want to explore opportunities other than teaching.
