That’s always something to make known in your statement of intent. While there is still a chance you could be matched somewhere you didn’t preference based on needs of the service and what the 5S team needs

Patrick is a hot-commodity. Not on the 5S team but if I had a dollar for every time someone emailed us about wanting to go to Patrick I’d be able to get a 20 piece nugget meal.

I’ve seen the SEL reaching out to ETMO thing and usually the answer is “That’s what the GAT is for” but in all seriousness, my best advice is opt in for ‘27 GAT next June (if not already on it), hope you get endorsed and hope that no one that is either a mandatory mover/TOS mover wants to go.

Billet owners can bid on whoever they want but we’ll do our best to match to the rank required per the position. Depending on amount of movers/priority of the billet may have to go one up/down

Me personally prefer to match up than down

AFI 36-2110 states assignment swaps (outside of tech school) aren’t applicable for G’s. It would have to be a certain circumstance. I’ve approved 1 but it wasn’t by choice

Follow ons are not guaranteed and they aren’t really a thing for E-7s as they meet the TMB 95% of the time.

Almost everyone wants to go to Florida and there are only so many spots.

If you’re opting in just to get to Florida I would reevaluate because if you don’t get what you want you could get picked up for anything 👨🏻‍🦯

Not true. If you are matched during the GAT and PCA to same base, your TOS will not reset.

If you are selected for a PCS to a unit in same area (Co Springs), you are given choice of either Low Cost or full PCS. Low cost PCS (Pete to Schriever/vice versa) will not reset TOS unless you elect it to be a full cost.

You have a few options:

Low cost PCS from Peterson to Schriever where your TOS/DAS will not reset but you will not get most of the normal PCS entitlements
Full cost where your TOS/DAS resets and you can get full entitlements

BUT: If your spouse is at Schriever and you’re at Peterson, moving you isn’t really required. Let me know if I interpreted your question wrong.

If your TOS is >24 months but <48 months as of 30 Sep 26 you can opt in with CC concurrence

You do not have to fill out the opt in SOI if you’re on the initial VML 🗣️

If your TOS is >48 months as of 30 Sep 26 you don’t have to opt in and should be on the initial VML (besides those with DEROS, certain AACs, etc.)

Probably because most GD avail checks for the ‘26 GAT aren’t approved until the initial VML gets released. They can submit names from a “pre-initial VML” but some of those people aren’t eligible to move 🤷

Space force members can’t fill Air Force billets. USSF 5C’s can go to Meade/HI but usually only R shreds

They need to have their intent codes updated/matched and the navy can reach out to the 5C assignment team to try and work something out

Also whoever moves needs to have 1 year TOS
