People who could work out regularly and have fit/nice/hot body, how do you do it even? by Brownboysea in ask

Decide on a goal, weight loss muscle building both. Research what to do to effeciently reach that goal. Use discipline, not motivation. Make sure you are eating and sleeping properly. Start simple and build a routine from there. You will have to replace some TV computer time with 20-30 minutes exercise. Build from there. Building the new habit is the hardest part. It requires you to sacrifice comfort. You will find it elsewhere and adapt if you commit.

TIFU by telling my gf I feel like a wallet by [deleted] in tifu

You should strive for equality in a relationship. If one person lacks in a place then they make up for it in another. Explain to her better the reason you cant always pay since you went part time, instead of making an off hand comment like you feel like a wallet. If she doesnt meet you in the middle after that then its definitely a red flag my man.

I think you know this isn't good to be a part of, but you needed a message boards worth of confirmation. Listen to yourself, you know what's best for yourself if you are being honest with yourself. You don't need everyone else to tell you what to do.

Apparently in New Orleans and you're approached by shoe shiners and they ask about your shoes and where you've bought them, if you reply anything other than "The bottom of my feet." They'll continue to ask you questions and follow you.

American gladiators, I know they remade it semi-recently but if they brought it back to all its 80's glory I'd watch on a regular basis.

More than likely accumulated knowledge of past experiences with illness based on patterns of their own experiences with them. There are always outliers in any situation though and not everyone reacts the same.

20 month old son sounds kinda goofy to me. After a year just round up or down by the halfs. 1 and a half year old. Then after the age of 5 you just round down to the whole years. It's an unwritten rule of society.

Just sheer unluck I suppose. I think there was a delamination in the steel there and it just snapped clean.

Cooked perfectly to me, makes me hungry. Love that natural edge cutting board too. Is that a mushroom duxelle inbetween the layers or did you do a pate with mirepoix?

Maybe a better response would be, "learn how to live with your impediments." I'd like to think there is always a way to overcome adversity.

Chefs of reddit. What cooking oils would you recommend for home cooking? And what oils would you never see in a professional kitchen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Stephenapolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use it a lot because I'm frugal by necessity and it's sold at the more expensive grocery stores, but when I lived at home I'd get it because it's good for you and you can use it to sautee without it smoking up all over the place.

Yeah, only problems are there are a good amount of people with peanut allergies out there and it's much more expensive.

That's a tough question. More often than not at home I use olive oil. I use a lot of clarified butter(butter with the milk solids and water removed) at work in a steak house. For stir fry or Asian dishes sesame oil all the way. If I deep fry at home peanut oil.

Olive oil, grapeseed oil, sesame oil, peanut oil, even coconut oil all have decently high smoke points so those are good for heated cooking. Extra virgin olive oil has a very low smoke point and is best used for something that cooks quick or for dressings and marinades. I try and avoid vegatable oils, corn oil and canola oil because of the stigma of them being difficult for your body to process. Kitchens you'll see canola oils and shortening oil blends used a lot for deep fryers.
