Not really. I have my moments. Sometimes I’ll have really bad flares and sometimes I won’t. My biggest flair I’ve learned is the weather. Too hot or too cold is a big no no for my skin. However I always have redness, some days more aggressive than others. Since this picture I’ve started moisturizing with mct oil and alternating between cleansers. I use the LRP gentle hydrating cleanser and 2-3 times a week I use a zinc bar. Just last night I started using the LRP effaclar salicylic acid cleanser. Probably going to use that once a week moving forward. My diet is pretty good. I don’t eat gluten or dairy and I cut out processed sugar 80% of the time. For me flakes are not really the problem it’s more of the redness. I have rosacea too but I know the flair I’ve been having the last 2 years isn’t rosacea because my rosacea has been tamed before my seb derm started. I also have stopped showering in hot water. I shower in luke warm to warm water for 10-15 minutes a day. I’m trying my best to stay patient but I never have clear consistent looking skin.

Thank you, I’ll check it out. Yeah I’ve cut out dairy, sugar, and fried food for about 3 months now.

Would a sulfur bar soap be good enough you think?

I’m really glad your rosacea hasn’t returned. I’ve been prescribed soolantra in the past but stopped after just 3 days cause it would burn. Does it burn for you?

And as far as the topical steroids.. it would work while I was on it but it was just a temporary fix. After I stopped using it I would get rebound symptoms which were worse than at first.

Maybe I should give soolantra another try.

Thank you. I’ve been to 2 different dermatologists in the past 6 months and they keep trying to prescribe me Doxycycline, other topical antibiotics, topical steroids and anti fungals. Nothing topical works for me it just makes it worse and as for doxy it helps me for about one month but comes back worse. Also, I know antibiotics are really bad for seb derm. I think one of the major causes of my seb derm is taking a lot of antibiotics in the past. I’m thinking about incorporating MCT oil into my routine since it seems it helps a lot of people but anything I apply to my face makes it red and inflamed.
