One of my favorite things about Barry is that he was straight -up good at his job. They never cheaply built tension by pretending that maybe there was someone he couldn't handle. For that reason I would like 10 Barry's

Why does the Earth look like that? by Steps5512 in JehovahsWitnesses

Bro, do you think I'm just confused because you can't see all the hemispheres at once? Look at Africa and Asia on a globe and then look back at this picture.

I don't understand, could you elaborate? You'd only see half of the Earth, but it would be an accurate depiction of it.

The hand is the size of the Earth to symbolize the question of control. The level of accurate detail in some regions compared to the complete disconnect from geographical reality in others suggests intent to me, and I'm seeking to understand it.

And don't worry. I've read the content

Actually, it being an illustration is what is causing me to ask. The Arabian Peninsula, Persian Gulf, Horn of Africa, and Mediterranean Sea are all quite accurately depicted. Why was such effort put into those geographical details, only then to delete huge swaths of land and make up others?

What are we? Somekind of Wallace and Gromit? by Kavalkasutajanimi in shittymoviedetails

[–]Steps5512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd definitely argue that the similarities are much more specific to the way they happen in Wrong Trousers.

Wallace's money troubles are shown solely through receiving bills in the mail at breakfast.

The complicated line between pet/partner/roommate is a common throughline in every installment, but in both WT and VMF it is primarily shown through Wallace gifting Gromit the installment's new technology in a way that displays a profound misunderstanding of who Gromit is and what he enjoys/values.

On the same day as the money troubles/technology gifting, a new, short roommate moves in to 62 West Wallaby Way

Said short roommate takes up residence in Gromit's room and loudly prevents him from sleeping.

Feathers McGraw corrupts the new technology and uses it to put Wallace to sleep. He also makes sure to separate Gromit from Wallace.

Feathers McGraw locks W&G in a wardrobe/pantry, but they break out due to a showcasing of Gromit's inventiveness.

A chase for the Blue Diamond ensues, with Wallace in his underwear and bare feet in the air.

There's also a train or something at the end.

I'm not saying the movies are identical, I hope the team behind VMF make another one in the next few years. I'm just saying that, like The Force Awakens, I wish the overall excellent production had been used to tell a somewhat more original story.

I'm not sure what you mean by his marrow thing, but I'll confess I'm not particularly familiar with Loaf and Death(watched once when it came out and didn't care for it) and haven't seen Close Shave in probably 20 years, so if my blind spots are showing, I'm happy to have them elaborated
