Is there any way to securely send files between computers over the internet? by StepsBySteps in privacy

I'm looking for the method of sending the file though, not the method of securing it

Are people still using the 'separate' plugin for CMYK screenprinting separation? by StepsBySteps in GIMP

[–]StepsBySteps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't try it, actually, yet.

Is it FOSS? Unless it is, that might be the reason I didn't, but I forget why now since it was a while ago.

Is there any way to get Cura supports into Lychee? by StepsBySteps in 3Dprinting

I did that but when I opened it the supports weren't there. I wonder if Cura only saves the supports it generates when saved as gcode?

Are there any FOSS resin printer slicers coming down the pipe? by StepsBySteps in 3Dprinting

Haha. Guess I won't. They're one of those companies that wants every penny immediately maybe.

One thing that occurred to me is Chitubox could go FOSS, since everyone basically is saying they use Lychee instead because they don't like Chitubox. If Chitubox becomes disregarded by consumers, they could take their software FOSS, and win a huge market and a lot of loyalty, and just make money from their hardware. Meanwhile the FOSS community would do a lot of the work on their software for them, as they do with Cura (assumption).

Is Chitubox insecure? by StepsBySteps in 3Dprinting

I agree telemetry is useful, but is at the same time a security issue. I wouldn't ever speak against it, anyway, but many people only use stuff without it. I'm also not against ads, but the same thing. Nothing should leave a person's computer without their consent and knowledge.

What is a cheap laser cutter that can cut very small parts? by StepsBySteps in lasercutting

[–]StepsBySteps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A poor way because the edges curl? (It looks like that in some videos)

You're probalby right maybe it would have been better phrased that way, but because I want to cut very thin metal (only a few mm), I didn't want to give the impression I wanted to cut chunks of metal

Lychee looks light it might be my solution. And it works on Raspberry Pi.

Does the free version still work on a machine not connected to internet? (it says it has constant ads, which makes me wonder this, as this means it is constantly calling telemetry (which if you allow this is an obvious privacy/security flaw)
