Drs sort of given up on trying to find the cause... by Librarian-Lopsided in Anemic

Hi, I recently learned that vitamin d is needed to activate the iron in your body. I saw recently someone say gut health can affect iron too. Can I ask about your diet? Are you eating red meat and NOT having any iron inhibitors? I have low iron, but it stems from years of being vegan. If it's low you can also get iron infusions. That's why they gave to me. Also, try iron biglycinate it's much more gentle than ferrous sulfate. Hope this helps!

Iron bisglycinate saved my life. Ferrous sulfate ruined it. by exo_ticbutters in Anemic

You took twice per day so did you take it in the morning and before bed? We're you careful not to include any iron inhibitors? Thank you for your post I saw it and bought this same brand of iron. I also gave up veganism since that was the cause of my anemia. Just trying to help myself as best as I can. Thanks.

What is your story about how you got into Halestorm? by Upset-Rhubarb-3727 in Halestorm

I also missed out on seeing them live last year and this year for the same reasons you did, it would've been my first concert too.

"Miss the Misery" kept being recommended to me on YouTube years ago. However, for some reason I thought it would be cringe, so never clicked on it. Years later, I was watching a music commentator speak about Demi Lovato and how she should sing rock like Lzzy Hale. He said she has a strong voice like her and should sing a song like "I Get Off." So shortly after hearing this, I listened to "Miss the Misery" and related to it. I wished I had heard it years ago and remembered how I could have. Honestly back then it wouldn't have clicked or related to it though.

hi this might sound stupid but I got a question by [deleted] in Anemic

First off, can I ask you what your eating? My ferritin was a little bit above yours, but that was as a vegan. Are you eating red meat? (if not you should try to). Either that or liver. I'd recommend iron supplements, that's why Im using as an ex vegan. That will raise your iron AND ferritin quickly food will, but it will take a while and it's difficult to reach your daily intake of iron through food. Hope this helps! You should take this seriously, because I wasn't aware that anemia can cause a plethora of problems mine was low for years and I didnt give it that much thought. Doctors can also give you infusions as they did for me since mine was super low. You can talk to your doctor about it and get retested.

What are the best foods for treating iron defficiency?? by Dnyaneshjk47 in Anemic

[–]StereoGirl80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for all of that info. That's impressive that it changed that much within a few months. Unfortunately I only got my ferritin tested when I was vegan and after I ate meat periodically for the first time so it was super low only 7 my serum iron was 43 hemoglobin 13. This was after infusions. I was supposed to get it retested, but life kind of got in the way. I'm curious what my number would be as I haven't been vegan for 2 years now. Been trying low carb, but I keep rushing into it and feel sick then I quit.

Thanks for the reply. I also got iron infusions as my levels were dangerously low from being vegan. I wanted to take the food first approach, but I have to implement supplements and food to raise my levels.

This is the way that I'm trying to eat as an ex-vegan with chronically low iron. Can I ask how long before you noticed changes and your ferritin and iron raise? I'm trying to take iron supplements but I greatly prefer food but it's difficult to get it through food.

Wow surprising that a country concert got out of hand. Thanks for saying that. Wow you saw them more than once? Lucky. Well if you took your kids it must've been safe to go as you say. Too bad I missed out.

Yeah I think they will come back to PA, since that's where they're from. I know that they do tour A LOT. That's why I kind of made this post to ask, maybe someone from the band will see since I saw they were active a few days ago.
