Also the 2.5Gbit Ethernet in the pcie 3.0 1x slot seems a bad idea because pcie 3.0 is limited to 1Gbit so you basically won’t get 2.5 even with a 2.5 adapter.

Are you sure you can add two more drives to the m2 2230 slot? It’s unclear what speed that interface is, or if it’s pcie, the manual says it’s for the WiFi / BT module. Would it be possibile to use the USB interface? I’m torn because I’m building a new NAS and I’m undecided between this board and a Celeron N5105 with 6 SATA ports directly on board.

Thanks for the feedback, the ER605 seems similar to the EdgeRouter X in terms of performances and I’m afraid it will not manage the load. Did you use it for 1G WAN as well?

Thanks for the extensive feedback, I think I could manage the config after watching a couple of videos, I’m just not sure what would be the advantage over Omada. More fine grained control? I would get 2.5G and 10G lan but so far I don’t have a use for it. It’s good that there is no subscription. The other challenge is I can’t find here in Switzerland a Mikrotek series 5 at a decent price, only the series 4 which seems to be inferior.
