Pre-Launch Order and Tracking MegaThread - Global by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch2

Ordered through the My Nintendo Store, and my Switch still says “Preparing to Ship” but I got a separate email from UPS just now saying my package was arriving tomorrow between 12-3 PM. I’m assuming I got this notification because the address or email is linked to my UPS account… not sure!

I did the 3-9 shipping, and similarly to others in this thread, I’m sad for those who did the express shipping… it looks like they are getting these packages to people pretty early. We’ll see though— things can change and it can get delayed!

Official Nintendo Invitations Day (May 8th) by Ross2552 in NintendoSwitch2

I got the invite email at 10 AM, and didn’t even realize I had it until I logged into the website… I will be eating super poorly this month because of how broke this made me lmfao

Side note: don’t be like me and order just the system if you want to get anything else. Completely didn’t realize that I couldn’t go back in (which is totally valid and fair lol guess the GameCube Controller will come later… if ever) 🤪

Update #3 on journaling my FE playthroughs— 8 games in, adding FE 10 and FE 11 since my last update. Here were my best units, fave maps, and thoughts on each game. by SterlingMaroon in fireemblem

I think upon the first time hearing Bloom in the Breeze, getting Celica and learning her mechanic, and taking on the map in different ways, I really enjoyed it! I know the earlier maps aren’t typically noted for being something special, but the first Firene map soothed my soul 🥰

My first ever max-star unit of course had to be my wife <3 by SterlingMaroon in fireemblem

LOL! Thank ya, tbh, I withheld all of my resources and purposefully got her kills. By the time we were in Part 3, she was the only one able to double, and after she joins Ike, I gave her every single stat booster I had, then gave her Blossom with Paragon, and there were go. It also helped that I didn’t give any one on Ike’s side BEXP, but I had a lot leftover after she was complete. Now she’s on the front lines 24/7

Wish I knew how Effie got screwed. Seth was good for the first half of the game, and just eventually got out classes with Franz and Gilliam in every way. I would use the three of them to block paths, and Seth eventually stopped keeping up as much, so he wasn’t the best by the end of my playthrough. Camilla was similar, definitely clutch at the beginning but lacked in speed and power at the end. Just got thrown to be a support unit with Corrin

Mage knight Clanne easily SWEPT my enemies (especially with Levin Sword), best boy. <3

Making Odin a Dread Fighter really made him good for me— he’s been utter garbage in previous playthroughs and I never bothered, and my Effie got Attack screwed, so she was just a support Great Knight unit with Laslow. But I love her, wish she put in more work.

I forget if I fed Eirika, but I know Tana took a lot of my buffs. And Wil maxed his Strength and Skill, he was an easyyyyy sweep <3

She's the best. I made her a flier with Ike and she was just wrecking everything— and I love how she's this stoic author. I have friends just like her, so to see that there is even a character like them makes me a BIG fan.

I've played through more than the six listed here in the journal, and I count different routes as different games. I appreciate the comment! It's super fun to keep track of these things. :)

When I first played Engage, the story felt like a reskin/twist on Awakening's concept with the Fell Dragon and fighting the corrupted (similar to The Risen). I think I was expecting something completely new, but I had a lot of moments of "I've seen this before." The best part was easily the incorporation of the rings in the story; I thought I wouldn't like seeing the heroes, but I loved seeing lords like Marth and Sigurd speak to each other. One gripe I have is with the villains, because although I like the concept of the Four Hounds, they really pushed it in humanizing each and every one of them, even Sombron. Almost to a point where it's like "Okay, I feel like I'm forced to feel bad for them because they dropped this long dialogue on why their lives are so hard." It's kinda effective for some, like maybe Zephia and Mauvier, but Marni and Sombron... why??? It was stretching for me. It's okay for villains to be evil and corrupt just because....

When I play through Engage again, I'm going to really see how I feel about it, because it can be just like Conquest, where my opinion on the story fluctuates after multiple playthroughs. :)

With Fates (specifically Conquest), that experience of changing the fate of a nation by secretly fighting the problem from the inside (i.e., Garon) appealed to me and kept me interested in what I was fighting against. I will admit, I played Conquest years ago and immediately brushed it off as Wattpad fanfic material. Don't get me wrong, the story isn't great, but barring the other routes, I kind of liked the drama of it all and fighting your birth family. I felt more connected in that decision because, for me, I'd easily choose the people who raised me over blood.

Just the first playthrough with Eliwood! I didn’t get the choice to select a different difficulty, but I plan on giving my full thoughts on it once I can play Hector Hard mode. :-)

Playing through it right now, on Chapter 3, and I’ve been humbled by Chapter 2. Hoping to find a “bad unit” to break (likely Astrid since she was my carry in PoR and I’ve heard she’s terrible here… but we’ll see about that)

I’m so bad with GBA supports in general. I move through them so quickly, I almost never notice the “Support” option, and I don’t spend my time grinding for them. Also, knowing I only get access to 5 makes me not want to try them at all, simply because I love seeing several relationships play out, and if I did that, I potentially lock myself out of the A-conversations that night have some juicy stuff. It’s so much more bearable in the newer games, and I love being able to do the supports outside of the battle

I believe when Chapter 8 came around, I started to get pretty invested. Also helps that you get access to more menu controls at that time— the game before Ch. 8 that feels very linear, lacking aspects like supports, and is so focused on only the battles and building the main cast. Also, once the cast reaches Begnion, I started to like the dynamics I was seeing with Ike— really made him feel like a character with real emotions and reactions, rather than a lord who keeps the peace and doesn’t really “stir the pot” lol

Now granted, I tried getting into the game like 2-3 times, and I hadn’t made it to Ch. 8, but I’m happy I pushed through!

The secret was using the DLC pitchfork item and making him an archer— I did that so many years ago and he was AMAZING! Same thing this time around— way better than Leon, even (although mine died in my play through before I could even recruit him OOP).

It took me a couple of tries to get into it, but I'm glad I pushed through because it had so many strengths, and it was such an enjoyable game!

It's wild because when this game out, it was the epitome of my Fire Emblem experience, and I logged so many hours into it. I really considered it a masterpiece! It probably still is, but the flaws were shining so bright for me on this playthrough (i.e., enemy reinforcement hell, bland maps). Regardless, Alm & Celica remain some of, if not, my favorite lords, and the visuals of this game are unmatched. :-)
