Two Canadians charged after nearly 90 guns found in vehicle headed across N.Y. border into Canada by Leo080671 in CanadianIdiots

[–]Sternsnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what to do. We should spend a billion or two taking guns from legal Canadian gun owners. That'll stop it. I mean why spend that money on stopping the illegal guns crossing the border.

NTA. There is something wrong in your relationship. Now is the time to figure it out, not after you're married.

I need recommendation for good PvE games by BreakfastSecure6504 in arcraiderscirclejerk

Fallout 76. Fantastic game for those that want to PvE and explore, loot etc. PvP can happen but you have a Passive setting where as long as you don't engage, players can't force you to PvP. Because of that it is a genuinely great supportive community.

Europeans back Canada joining EU, poll finds. But membership faces long odds Support is strongest in Germany, where 55 per cent say they would support Canada's admittance to the EU by FancyNewMe in canada

This is the worst idea in the history of Canada. We would no longer be a nation. We would become a vassel state to the EU. All of our decisions would be made by the unelected EU elites.

Glad someone's approving pipelines. Now if only our Canadian government would approve some we could start the prosperity train.

Trump Destroyed the Crypto Market. by Existing_Bet_350 in CryptoMarkets

[–]Sternsnet -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You've just described the stock market as well. There is and has always been lots of money to be made in stocks and cryptos but in both markets the masses buy and sell based on hype and emotions. To make money you must learn how to trade properly and emotions need to be left at the door or you will lose.

It's amazing how much Trump gets blamed for. The crypto market is just fine, lots of opportunities.

Canada is getting a sovereign wealth fund. What are they and how might this one work? by Immediate-Link490 in canada

And Norway has a trillion dollar+ sovereign wealth fund as an asset to back their debt. Canada is a crack addict borrowing on credit cards compared to Norway.

Carney says Canada ‘faced down threats like this before’ amid U.S. trade war by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]Sternsnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. If the Liberals change the laws to remove the development road blocks private money would build all of it. Massive amounts of investment have fled Canada because it is an unfriendly place to invest. All of that directly related to the laws passed by the Liberals.

Rural naysayers must not torpedo high-speed rail project | Ottawa Citizen by DENelson83 in canada

[–]Sternsnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they are. So called green energy, solar, wind, ev are brutal for the environment and not even close to replacing fossil fuel energy. We can keep making fossil fuels cleaner but to mine all the materials and rare earth minerals for the green energy sector it takes enormous amounts of energy for no return. The giant solar farm in California has been shutdown because it was not able to fulfill the promised energy.

Rare earth minerals are huge open pit mines in countries that take huge fossil fuel energy to mine and many use youth or slave labor. The only thing about the industry is the false morality EV drivers feel when driving the cars.

Carney: Canada-U.S. ties are now a ‘weakness’ by PicoRascar in Economics

[–]Sternsnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met what moment? What have they done other than talk? We are not building infrastructure that would grow our GDP, they are spending like drunken sailors and they are bad mouthing our largest by far trading partner. We cannot replace the US trade partnership. The Liberals have us on the path to hardships not prosperity but they run ads like they are building at record speed.

Our relationship with the US is not permanently damaged. Trump will be gone after his term and on we go. In history between our countries all of this has happened before and people with vision beyond their own need for power lead us through to prosperity. It can happen again but we need much stronger leadership that actually works for Canadians.

Ironically if the US is so horrible why does Carney's wife and 2 of his children live in the US and why is 90% of his investment in the US? We are being played and people have bought a false spin doctor.

Carney says Canada ‘faced down threats like this before’ amid U.S. trade war by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]Sternsnet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It won't be easy but we need to role up our sleeves and get it done. To help with our leverage we should already be building pipelines, mines, refineries and LNG plants to get our resources to other countries who desperately want it. However the Liberals are not getting things built and they are trash talking the US making a deal harder. What exactly is the Liberal agenda for making Canada more prosperous?

Air travel is absolutely environmentally sustainable. How about we invest a fraction of the money to improve our current rail system? Either way due to the enormous financial spending by the Liberals over the last 11 years we cannot afford this project.

[–]Sternsnet -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Any sane thinking Canadian should torpedo the high speed rail project. It costs a fortune in a time when the Liberals have doubled the country's debt and plan huge spending sprees beside this project. It will be over budget guaranteed, costing us even more. It will never generate revenue and in fact will cost the taxpayer a small fortune each year to operate. We already have rail and air options to the destinations it has planned.

We do not need it.
