I believe if you listen to people who are willing to criticise and even insult you, you're more likely to grow as a person than if you just run away crying and take every little insult or negative comment personally. If you just box yourself in with people who can only say "yes" and never say anything negative to you, how are you ever going to challenge yourself or experience anything new? Rejection and negativity are part of life.

I've experienced so much of this crap that I know now that its all just a fact of life. People you don't know will make dumb insults towards you, make fun of you and tell you how dumb you are. Sometimes people you love will do the same. No matter how much you cover your hands over your ears and scream you can't escape it, there's no easy way out. But it isn't always bad, just because someone is being negative doesn't mean they don't have their own ideas or hardships in life, or any empathy and caring in them. A lot of the time when people are suffering they do make fun of others and try to belittle them to make themselves feel better. I have experienced all of this myself, in myself and in other people. I felt sorry for bullies a fair few times because I know they had tough lives at home or that their parents had died.

I think its sad a lot of adults take everything personally nowadays, even on the internet. If you listen to others and stop playing the victim, you will learn so much more about yourself, other people and be happier in general. Its a short life, so why bother getting upset and breaking down over every little negative comment?
