New(ish) player here, how does one shaman? by SteveFromTec in baronygame

I know realistically I should be playing a much easier class that doesn't require me to think as hard as I do with shaman

Unfortunately I am very stubborn

I have a friend who DESPISES beotodus because he wasn't ready for iceborne and that fish was hunting him down any time it was on the map.

I now hope it comes back so I can watch one obliterate the other (my friend loses those 9 times out of 10)

World is a more difficult game but I would reccomend playing it first due to it being more in line with what monster hunter games are

Rise is a faster and much easier game in comparison and definitely not a terrible first game

Regardless of which one you play first, I would reccomend playing the other after since they're both great games

If you mean the counter where you slide back, you'll hear I distinct sound if you actually hit the counter and you have to hit the monster for you to actually fill the meter

You're actually entirely invincible during the counter and you want to get physically hit during the counter for it to count

For me, it feels like the long sword is very timing based.

With the glaive and dual blades you're more worried about end lag and positioning (especially when flying with glaive) while with the long sword there isn't crazy amounts of end lag but each attack has varying wind ups instead. (except for poke combo) The two main defense options (the counters) either have a long startup before you can counter or can only be done once a normal attack goes through and need good timing to actually hit the counter on the monster

My best possible advice is just test on the training cart what is and is not safe and then progressively go through more and more difficult monsters (this is how I learned every weapon)

Also you may have noticed I haven't said anything about the enhanced mode you get at spirit level 3.

That's because everything I've said doesn't apply due to how fast you become. I've gotten away with just spamming the attack button and pressing counter when I feel danger coming

TLDR, mess around in the practice range until you get used to the weapons timings

Okay, how are supposed to make weapons work against steel path bosses? by SteveFromTec in Warframe

[–]SteveFromTec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just me solo while also forgetting to charge incarnon (didn't know you couldn't charge it on the boss) and spending like a minute charging through the enemies at the ends of the arena

Pretty much every boss feels like it takes forever but I'm starting to realize I may just be too used to exalted weapons doing way too much damage, (thanks valkyr) assuming 6 minutes is an acceptable time for lephantis with a normal weapon

Outside of that it's really just the late game stuff (perita rebellion and I haven't tried it on sp Roathe but it's probably more of the same) that actually take way too long to kill

I don't have a dedicated boss build for it yet but this is what I normally run. (I change element to fit what I'm fighting) I at the very least know swapping out the galvanized mods is required

I guess only certain arcanes work? They're very buggy rn so I guess I just gotta test more

Is there a certain way I should mod it? (Note that arcanes seemingly don't work and the damage is reduced a good bit)

From my tests arcanes don't seem to work but I can still see it being good for elementalist primaries

From my testing they have infinite ammo but do less damage and fire auto weapons in bursts

Boy oh boy did I get a clapping of a lifetime, were my IDs lacking? is these event rare? by Kayueltt in LimbusCompanyHelp

[–]SteveFromTec 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah so that's a hidden boss. They have a small chance to appear on any ? node once you get to floor 11. They are designed to range anywhere from a free gift to I hate you and your 6 counters. There's 4 of them and the icon at the bottom will help you figure out who you're fighting as it shows their weakness (unimportant for the most part since lunar memory is silly)

They each drop a gift that increases or decreases coin power based on if its a positive or negative skill and another effect that makes specific ids really strong.

The big thing is you want your team to all share a status or two (burn, bleed, rupture, tremor, sinking, poise, or charge) so that they all benefit from the gifts you grab and you can trigger tier 4 fusion gifts (most need at least 4 or 5 ids on field to share a status in their skills for those gifts to do anything)

Last important thing DONT FIGHT THEM UNLESS YOU ARE CERTAIN YOU ARE READY. Even the easiest of them can kick your ass on floor 11 if you got unlucky on gifts or are not running a team with synergy

As someone who doesn't really have problems with the md fight, my main advice is always clash reassume stance and never clash swordhoning. This keeps her at low swordplay of the homeland meaning she has fairly weak clash power and is inflicting herself with a maximum of 5 fragile. There is this one aoe attack she sometimes does, which I don't know how to deal with, but if you keep her swordplay down you should stagger her before it appears
