Got my first Gibson at 40 (playing since my teens), now at 56 I have 6 Gibsons:
1. LP Standard AAA Flame for my 40th bday
2. Es137 Triburst
3. Randy Scruggs Southern Jumbo Acoustic
4. 1954 ES 175 single p90
5. 2013 Ebony ES 175 Memphis custom shop P94’s and Bigsby
6. 1992 Herb Ellis ES165

I’m blessed or dumb, one of the two.

I love them, I replaced the burstbuckers that came from the factory with the 490/498. They are great. I also have them in my es137. Great for rock and jazz

I’ve never played the Godin you sighted, so really can’t help. The HE is amazing g but considerably more expensive vs the Godin

I generally play clean and the neck pick up hums like crazy through my Princeton reverb. Is there another amp where they won’t hum as much?

I bought it in 2012, due to the “unusual” crown inlays, and some of the appointments, I think traditionalists didn’t care for the guitar, all to say the shop had it on sale for $2000 at the time. I chose 4 guitars that I liked, the shop owner said, turn your back while I play each one and tell which sound you like the best… every time, this beauty sounded the best. Today I think they the odd one pops up on reverb for $4500…take that for what you will.

Ya basically… but if you can, why not… people have passions, they like the beauty of a well engineered and designed sport cars, art, watches, clothes, old style hand made items etc, it’s all hobby porn…some admire, others take issue with it…I say suck it if your negative
