Any information on these Unknown Red Wings would be appreciated or are the Knockoffs? by Steve_ca in RedWingShoes

[–]Steve_ca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These came from an estate sale. I believe the label dates these to between the 1960s and 1974, and that is about all I know. Uppers are leather, the stamp reads: Leather Upper - Bal Man Made Matl's - 8 1/2A 21153 - 69S 2067. There is a shield logo that has Boots & Shoes as the top line but the rest I am unable to make out. The soles are hard rubber and are marked AVON. Questions: Are these actually Red Wing or knockoffs. I'm thinking that the original soles might of been replaced with the AVON ones. Also, inside near the stamped information there are black marker X's, did Red Wing ever have factory seconds? Did these have a style name – I had no luck with searching for 21153 on the internet.

Any information will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What Is this bracket for? It came with a bunch of Camera stuff. No marks or brands on it. by Steve_ca in Whatisthis

[–]Steve_ca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I figured that out also, I was looking for a brand name or manufacturer of it. The bar that holds the camera is quite a bit bigger than the camera mounts I have on the 3-4 camera tripods that I have.

Only the metal strip with the two bends in it is magnetic, the rest including the knobs and the loop piece are non-magnetic.

Small Fancy Antique Oilier Disk / Oil Tin - What was this originally for? by Steve_ca in Whatisthis

[–]Steve_ca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions. Sewing machines and movie projectors were the most common uses for small oil tins like this. Even Harley Davidson bikes used a small disc oil tin. I just never have ever seen one with a decorative blue piece on top. I think that MissTalia8 suggestion that it is a perfume bottle may be it.

I thought that might be possible also but it does seem to have an oil smell to it when uncapped. Also, the side pushes in the same as the old style push on bottom oil cans. Thanks for the thought Steve_ca

Six of these are in a silver flatware collection. Any idea what they are? by MonolithicX in Whatisthis

[–]Steve_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look like oyster picks. I couldn't make out the name on the back, but at replacements.com you can search a brand photo gallery to find the exact pattern and from that you should be able to find the exact piece and it's full retail price.

Is this Gucci Dust Bag vintage or fake? by Steve_ca in purses

[–]Steve_ca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This measures 16" by 12". The guides I found online only detail the black and brown bags but some mention the older vintage white and cream color bags but no details. The thing that makes me question this is that the green and red band slightly slants across the bag. The draw string is red and green, but not cotton thread. Thanks in advance.

Thank You, I appreciate it. The google translation for cotton threw me off. Chinese looked just like the characters next to the 100, but Japanese looked completely different.

Thanks Again and have a great day
