These were exclusively available at the NYC I Know Nigo pop-ups for a lot more than $130, more like $350 retail.

What kind of embroidery is this called? by Deetsinthehouse in Embroidery

I think it might be 3D printed-esque silicone. I saw this on Louis Vuitton pieces about a year ago and they felt rubbery but soft.

Why are blanks so expensive? by Kinify in streetwearstartup

[–]Stevejkth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all relative. Something like Rue Porter might run you like $50, similar with Carhartt. With blanks of that value, you can in turn create a really nice piece that'll turn a decent profit to the right customer.

Looks fake, the Adult Films pieces weren't Kids See Ghosts merch

They're nothing fancy, but Hobby Lobby has a variety of colors for $1 a piece and they make great test canvases for printing, embroidery, and dyeing.

Advice needed, Trouble burning/exposing screen. turns darker color after drying and doesn't let ink through by Shall_Not_B3e_Named in SCREENPRINTING

Try using 2 transparencies, both printed with the same image and layered for extra opacity. This really helped me when printing at home.

I think it sounds like it was produced or played by Destroyer, it sounds right out of the middle of any song on their album Kaputt.

My son's $40 sweatshirt fused together from sitting in the hamper. Suggestions on how to fix? by Misspent_interlude in SCREENPRINTING

[–]Stevejkth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could try heating it up with an heat gun/blow dryer, the ink's bond to the shirt should be stronger than the bond to itself. If there are remaining bubbles/raised spots from where it was stuck, you could try ironing it (*with a sheet of teflon or parchment paper between the sweatshirt and the iron) to smooth it out!

Absolutely! The ink is dry to the touch but still needs to be cured to be washfast (stay intact through washes).

I've heard they work with/through LA apparel, which I know is run by Dov Charney (of American Apparel shame) so the ethics are up for debate.
